    318 running like crap

I kinda agree and I kinda dont. I just made a habit of putting a spare box and ballast resistor in the glove box. What really screwed me up was switching to a multispark box. Now when that failed,I was walking...

    318 running like crap

One of the things almost noone ever thinks about is making sure the plugs themselves are grounded properly. I have seen the threads in the head foul up bad enough to cause a cylinder missfire. I have a tool for chasing the threads in the head,as it was a common thing on lawnmower engines,and...

    Tachometers for dummies!

I have a hard time finding ANYTHING not made in China these days. Where are Auto meters made? If China thier probably made in the same factory as the cheaper brands, just a higher price tag. And this is the biggest scam of the century,as we are being sold the same name brand stuff but built in...

    Tachometers for dummies!

I also favot autometer, but mostly for it's look. I've had plently of cheap gauges over the years, and most of em have been just fine.

What amp. rating to get for alternator?

Why do you want to upgrade the alternator? Need brighter lights? A more powerfull alt isnt the way to go. Halogens connected to relay's for that..

Anyone tried one of these HEI Distributors?

Each application will be slightly different. A heavier vehicle like a truck will want a slower advance curve, and thus heavier spring's. For an A body which is light, most likely a light adv spring will do,but given that it's an hei dist in a mopar maybe less adv is needed?

Anyone tried one of these HEI Distributors?

I reject about 90% of Chinese made stuff, but there is the odd piece here and there which look's right and last's. Lordco's chinese made brake part's are crap,I'll assume it's made in a plant where a bit of this and a bit of that are thrown in the metal process becuase those china made rotor's...

Anyone tried one of these HEI Distributors?

I was wondering the same thing myself. Why not just get a good hei module and mount it up to your mopar dizzy? Like Dan said, cheaper and more reliable. But I dont know about the white box thing and a lack of faith. A plain wrapper simply lowers the end cost of the product. My new c clamp...

    Dim efi

For one.if you want tunability go for the G.M style tbi. The tbi are plentifull and easy to install, all that is needed is the computer and wiring harness from your donor vehicle.Tuning is easier than all get up,there are downloadable tunes here ( http://www.moates.net/ ) and cheap chip burners...

Where can I purchase new Key blanks?

I've been hangin on to older mopar keys, hoping they might be usefull one day.If you find a used key in good shape you could simply have the locksmith change the pins in the lock to match your "good" key. It's about a 10 minute job for a competent locksmith,if the cylinder is already out and...

    Ignition Module Question

No and no. I've run a 5 pin module plently of times when it calls for only 4. The aftermarket tach's are very easy to install, usually only 3-4 wires to hook up.

    DIM Electronic Advance Ignition

Subscribed! I have a few of those lean burn era distributor's, but the one I'd be most interested in modding would be from my 78 400. I'd like to use it in conjunction with a dual g.m t.b.i system, and hei ignition.

Do it! Well worth the swap. Saves you weight, smaller size is easier clearance for headers etc. More starting torque as well!

GM HEI on Mopar,Does it work?

Lol,Doug knows first hand what the purists think of a gm part in a mopar... Myself I'll run the hei conversion as well.

    Bad fbo ignition system

I like the simplicity of hei, which as you said makes it very reliable. It's very compatible with megasquirt also, and I'll look to use it on my 451 with megasquirt and fuel inj.
