    70 Maverick came home

Years ago a lady who worked for me came in on a Monday morning all excited saying she and her new husband bought a "4-door Mustang" from the local Ford dealership over the weekend. I tried and tried to explain to her that their new purchase could not be a Mustang since it was a 4-door. Turned...

A few kits I put together years ago.

Not with models since the ones that I'd built years before had since deteriorated and were gone when my wife and I got married. My frustration was over my drag racing trophies that all ended up in a box in a closet, and the original Lionel train set box that was disposed of while I was at work...

Mount the rearview mirror 'upside down' with the post glued to the dashboard. The '59 Plymouth Fury my mom had when I was growing up had the rearview mirror mounted on the dashboard.

    1962 Catalina

Hey Dart_Doc - When the '64 GTO came out General Motors was limiting their A-body platforms to a maximum of 400 cubic inches. That's why the GTO started life with the 389. Oldsmobile brought out the first 4-4-2 in 1964 as well and it only carried 330 cubic inches. The "4-4-2" initially stood...

Trip back in time to the Hobby Shop

Thanks for the memories! Growing up in Montebello (SoCal) my local hobby shop was Victory Hobbies on Whittier Blvd., a 3-block walk from home. It was just a small shop with plastic models, glue and paints in the front and HO-scale trains and a small layout in the back. My first plastic model...

Greenlight 1/18 Vanishing Point Challenger- a (mostly) amazing piece

Cool! But I think you need to display your 'Vanishing Point' Challenger separately from the Super Bee and Charger. Display it separately but with two 1/18 scale bulldozers (if you can find some) and a crushed and burnt '67 Camaro. LOL

    Original Little Red Wagon A-100?

Hey 67PW, check out this article from HotRod.com that says the original 1964 build was a carbureted Hemi to run in A/FX. Sorry, no pics of the engine with the article. http://www.hotrod.com/feature_stories/hrdp_1304_where_it_all_began_the_little_red_wagon/

Yes, it is actual wire. 27-guage wire is appropriate for scale 8.5 mm spark plug wire (a tiny bit large, but OK). You can get 12 spools of 26-guage bead wire (9-feet of wire per spool) currently on sale from Hobby Lobby - sale price is $4 for all 12 spools, each spool is a different color...

Detail Master Spark Plug Wire is advertised as .012" wire - in 1/25 scale that is just slightly larger than 8mm spark plug wire. 28-guage wire is .0126". Lots of internet sources. First place I looked had a price of $3.95 for 120' roll. Detail Master shows a list price of $3.99 for 2'. You...

Check Out This Awesome Aussie Mopar Diecast

This is one of the coolest diecast Mopars I've ever seen! It's a 1/24 scale diecast replica of the famed E38 Chrysler Valiant Charger R/T campaigned by Leo Geoghagen in 1971. Manufactured by Trax Australia, it has exceptional detail, better than I've seen on a lot of much larger 1/18 scale...
