    Tach mounting

Back in the very early '70s I mounted a tach in my '69 340 Swinger using the driver-side visor mounting bracket at the upper left corner of the windshield. It was a great location for the tach because it was easy to see without moving your eyes completely away from the road. I ran the wiring...

Anybody have TIPM issues on your late model Mopar?

The TIPM issues occurred between model years 2007-2016 from what I've read on the web. Hopefully the replacement TIPMs are good.

Anybody have TIPM issues on your late model Mopar?

My daily driver is a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab. Driving to work last Wednesday everything was just fine. When I came out and went to grab some lunch: * Rear driver and passenger door windows would not operate (front door windows operate) * Rear cab window would not operate * Electric door...

    JC Penney Lifetime battery.

Hey Leo, one of our Inland Mopars Car Club members has a '70 Barracuda that was her college car. She bought it used in about 1972. She's been through about 7 warranteed batteries thanks to her lifetime Penneys warranty. They tried to buy her out of her warranty twice but she won't turn loose...

Think You Had a Wiring Mess. Check This out!

Years ago a good friend of mine acquired a little Chevy LUV truck with a blown SBC in it. When doing some work under the dash he found the previous owner evidently either didn't have the correct wiring for what he wanted to do and didn't want to take the time to go get it - so he'd cut the cord...

    Wiring kits?

I think I got a pretty good deal on my wiring kit. I swapped some parts I wasn't go to use anyway for a brand new Painless kit a friend of mine found in the trunk of a car he bought. Win/win all around.

Wrap Positive Cable w/ Battery Relocation?

Whether it's overkill or valuable protection, I'd listen to him and go ahead and do it. Put it in the "chicken soup" class - what can it hurt? If nothing else it will give you some peace of mind. What's your concern? Expense? Then it's cheap insurance compared to the total cost of building...

    Guess who's back

A long shot, but did you change intake manifolds? Back in the very early '70s I put a new intake manifold on my 340 Swinger and had a vacuum leak I couldn't find. The new intake had two sets of bolt holes for different brands of carbs. One of the bolt holes I wasn't using with my Holley was not...

Ready-to-Run Distributor and Blaster Coil Issue

Got a chuckle out of your final story, Stukenbroeker. Reminded me of a story a lady I worked with a million years ago told me. She'd just bought a brand new Chevy Monte Carlo, drove it off the lot and got about 5 miles toward home when it suddenly died. She had it towed back to the...

    kill switch

Don't know if it's possible in our older Mopars, but the original owner of my '95 Ram 2500 wired an ignition "kill" through the turn signal lever. To start my truck you need to pull the turn signal lever toward you while turning the key in the ignition switch. If you don't pull the lever toward...

    Converting to all toggle switches??

Do you mean toggle switches or rocker switches? It could be done with rocker switches and remain all-Mopar with some B-body parts. Remembering back to my old '70 Charger, both the headlights and wipers were controlled by rocker switches on the dash.

Doug, I'm sure you're aware but just in case you're not, California law says off road lights must be covered when on the highway - use only permitted off road. I'd hate for one of our CHP to pull you over just because your Hellas aren't wearing their covers - you know how it is when they're...
