to me it sounds like an ignition problem . I went through the same thing on a galaxie . carb was full of junk from sitting ,rebuilt it adjusted the timing cleaned and set the points it helped but wast right still had a stumble and noticeable miss while driving and would stall sometimes taking...

sounds like the alt. gauge problem and stalling could be related to a dead short to ground under the dash . I had the same thing happen on mine . Mine was the power wire for the dash lights that rubbed through and a p/o had used a piece of aluminum foil and wrapped it around the fuse because it...
