I poured it into a fairly full tank and drove it about 10 miles. It sat for the week and I took it out the following weekend and the trouble began. Before i stored it for the winter I topped off the tank. I guess I'm trying to figure out what I should be focusing on first.

Last November I poured a container of carb cleaner in the tank, drove it and parked it for about a week. Ever since then it's been idling very rough. Anyone ever have this happen with carb cleaner?

Did you drop the tank?

When I bought my car the owner boasted that it had a new gas tank installed. He didn't mention that they omitted the $10 rubber grommet. The old one was reinstalled and wrapped in duct tape and leaked like a sieve when the tank was filled.

Brings back nice memories! My future brother-in-law had one on his 65 Nova when he was dating my sister.

Not sure if this has been asked recently, has anyone used Star Tron and if so what's your opinion of it?

Ditto on Bill's suggestion of a new tank grommet! When I bought my 69 it had a new tank but they reused the old grommet. It leaked and was a pain until I got around to replacing it. You've got a 47 year old car, replace what you can while the tank is out!

Every time I fill up my tank I get a slow drip from the tank. It isn't coming from the sending unit so I'm assuming the grommet isn't seated properly. I should also add that it's a new tank. Question, do I have to drop the tank or can this be done through the trunk ? Thanks
