    Took a chance & scored

Looks like standard input shaft. Looks like the NCLFS which is different than previous ones I've done. Tks, all good info. Abt the time you think you've got a handle on things you learn something new. The 512 stroker will be for crusing so this input shaft will be fine.

Sorry, not familiar w/NCLFS but sounds like an interesting option.

Sorry guys, didn't get a look at casting or pan rail #'s on engine but it was almost complete.

    Took a chance & scored

Tks for reply. Makes sense to me. Everything I've done on 727 has been 70' & newer. Also a few mid 60's 904's a long time ago.

    Took a chance & scored

A friend advised that a 65' D300 was @ PAP & had a BB automatic. Yep, 383ci w/727 lever shift despite push buttons on dash. Case #J2894014101535 isn't in my master list but falls around 68-69' so suspected it was swapped out. Took a chance & pulled it anyway. OK so drive shaft turned both ways...

    727-8 Reaction Shaft Differences

Thanks for responses, was hoping to get more definitive info. Differences btw input shafts & valve bodies are obvious, reaction shafts -- not so much. I'm swapping non-lockup assembly into turbo nitrous /6 case that will be turning @ 8k shift points. I don't feel the lockup converter is going...

    727-8 Reaction Shaft Differences

I also checked the main pump housings and they are identical in all features. ???

    727-8 Reaction Shaft Differences

Thanks for your reply. I had already checked everything with calipers & air but just rechecked again. All OD/ID measurements are the same and orifices are identical & clocked the same. The only difference, other than VB & input shaft, is the ball plugs. Both trans were pulled by me years ago &...

    727-8 Reaction Shaft Differences

What is the significance of additional ball (arrow) in reaction shaft housing? Shaft on right w/ 2 ball plugs (arrow) is from 74' BB motor home, left w/ 3 ball plugs is from 81' D100 lockup. Part numbers on housing are the same.

    727A bolt-in sprag

Thanks for the referals. Just what I needed. Typical, if it isn't bowtie, go somewhere else & pay more. It just costs a little more to be the best. Hi hi

    727A bolt-in sprag

Sum & Jeg both discontinued the TCI #127000. TCI not responding to e-mail, phone busy, & on line chat is disconnected by server. Not looking good. A&A is almost twice the money but may be only alternative. Too bad, I've used 6 of these over the years and always considered them a solid upgrade.

    727A bolt-in sprag

Trying to order another bolt-in replacement sprag but the two top suppliers have discontinued them. Have always used the TCI sprag with good results after Direct Connection faded away. What other options are out there?

    /6 A727 id

I have a A727 removed from a mid 70's truck with the following markings on the DS pan rail "PK 4058384-7326 3034". The case body has rough cast marking "188-1" on both sides of the bellhousing (mold markings?). I have found reference to a A727-RG but it included the comment that "an adapter is...

Add your abody driveshaft length for quick reference

I'm a little late on this thread but hope this helps someone. My 65' Valiant 200 coupe w/904 & 7.25 is untouched from factory with c/c driveshaft length of 51 1/2". This is dead accurate as I just finished pressing in new U-joints. BCP
