That would get dirty ASAP. I think some strategically drilled rotors would work. Hang the VR off the caliper bracket right next to pads and have it read the drilled holes.

Can you just carb these and run some sort of distributor? 36-1 + EDIS-8 + Megajolt? No cylinder drop or VVT or security nonsense needed.. GEN 3 Hemi challenged...but willing to dip a toe in.

I think modern engines with their tolerances and penny pinching emissions dont need much idle fuel pressure. those pumps sap horsepower and every little chance they can get to reduce parasitic loss (electric water pumps, fans...even oil pumps!) they will run the pumps at minimim drag/psi to keep...

Those logs don't look bad at all until you get the driver on and find the steering goes right through them....? whats the dimension off the centerline of those? Can probably tell what the early A dim is there. Best thing to do is drop it in ans see where its gonna have to land and start fabbin...

so a bad cam caused the rocker to be loose, where did all that cam material go? Do an autopsy and let us know what you find.

Buddy dropped 2 valve seats in a 5.7 300..maybe the valve is hung up on one causing the floppy rocker? $250 is still worth it. Not sure of the 6.4 had the same issue. Rebuilders peen the seats in now after a valve job.

but the Gen 3 may get 2x the mileage.......Those 360's were some thirsty horses!

Mehhh, I still like the older one...400HP out of a 360 is far cheaper than going Gen 3.

Id run it as is. Maybe wrap the headers/manifolds to keep bay temps down? Manifolds are cheap, wrap aint gonna break them down.

so pop in an aftermarket cam (probably do that anyways on a performance build) and your poor metallurgy troubles will be gone? Sounds like a 'simple' (relative) fix, not a design redesign.

I said make that suspect 'oil blocking galley' an inverted spray bar to squirt oil the cams underside and the rollers to boot. Problem solved? Wouldn't stop the 'galling' of the dry lifter bores but it couldnt hurt. New roller cam cost $80 from MP? Why are LA rollers still >$280?

check valve height without rockers. if they are all even using a straight edge, your good on a common dropped valve seat.

If I were building a Gen3 Hemi, I would upgrade the heads as the first order of buisness. I know 3 locally that have dropped valve seats out of OEM heads and ruined an otherwise great motor.

buddy had a 300, dropped a seat on one head, had head replaced with a JY head. Next month, he dropped another on the other head! Went back to same JY, bought the other head, slapped it on and sold it. He was pissed because he had bought 3rd party mechanical insurance in it, you know the ones...
