    Victor Jr EFI Intake

I don't have any experience with the Edelbrock EFI, only megasquirt and some Holley Terminator EFI. When you say its a turd, does it stumble, or just not have any power and accelerate slowly? What's the AFR go to when you mash on it from under 2500? Do you have a a way to post a pic of the...

    Timing advance guru input needed

Wow! Thanks for all the information guys. While I do consider myself pretty educated about engines and their functionality, I've never been one to learn about the ultra finite details to edging out the perfect tune, via carb or efi. Prior to the efi conversion, I always ran an MSD dizzy without...

    Timing advance guru input needed

I'm running sequential EFI and spark on a 408ci w/ aluminum heads and approximately 9.5:1 compression. I can set the timing advance to anything I want at any RPM, and any load level. I know it would be best to tune on a dyno, but I don't have access to one at the moment. Below is my current...

Anyone else using MegaSquirt on a LA motor?

I'm open to trying Holley on my G3 project. I especially like their digital displays. I'm hoping they come up with a new drop on kit like the Terminator they developed for the LS. My car almost got the G3 Hemi, but once I learned I needed to notch the frame rail for the alternator to fit, then...

Anyone else using MegaSquirt on a LA motor?

You're right. The simplicity of the LS makes it very attractive to a hot rodder. There's no wonder it is now cliche' to LS swap something. I have no idea what it's like to have a plethora of aftermarket support for an engine platform. Heck the physical size of the LS is even favorable. My next...

Anyone else using MegaSquirt on a LA motor?

I put this thread together a few months ago. You may find some of the information there helpful. I've learned much more since I've put some miles on the car. Its lots of fun messing with efi. I'm not sure why I didn't embrace it years ago. I'll never purchase a carb again.

This is pretty much the same location mine was originally. That won't work with PS and AC. SD Concepts makes a kit for big block and Hemi, but the LA doesn't get any love for things like this.

Here's a picture of my crank trigger setup. The toothed wheel is a 36-1 from DIY autotune. I machined a a hole in it that allowed it to fit on the back side of a factory pulley and tack welded it on. It's important to the ECU calibration to know exactly where the missing tooth is on the wheel...

Anyone else using MegaSquirt on a LA motor?

I’m using the D585 coils only because the internet says they are better. Haha. Are they really better, who knows, but the salvage yard employees won’t know the difference so the price is the same. These can be found on the 6.0 liter LS platform. I’m sure you can find them at any of your local...

Anyone else using MegaSquirt on a LA motor?

I pointed out some details in my post above. What else do you want to know? You can get all the sensors you need from a junkyard. Actually I suggest getting the sensors and their connectors from a junkyard. My TPS and coils are from a junkyard along with a few other connectors. I can post a pic...

Mine is in the glove box. If you look close at my engine pic above, you can see a large bulkhead connector behind the engine. Everything passes through that.

I thought I'd share more pics of my setup. You can see the LS coils mounted on the back of the intake. I actually reused my plug wires from the distributor. I just trimmed them and changed the ends. This is a carb M1 intake I welded injector bungs into. The fuel rails are Edelbrock (they sell...

Anyone else using MegaSquirt on a LA motor?

Per the previous post, EFI Source does sells the Gold Box, which is essentially their version of the MS3X. You will still use Tuner Studio for tuning. If you buy one specifically for the G3 Hemi, it will come with a base tune and it will have the igniters installed inside of it to operate the...

Anyone else using MegaSquirt on a LA motor?

If you have a basic understanding of how engine electronics work, you can easily learn how MS works with simply reading their manuals. I believe they also have a book out there with lots of basic information. If you don't know anything about efi and don't want to learn, I suggest getting a...

Is it difficult to dial in the AFR with batch fire? It's relatively easy with the sequential. I did, however, find it interesting that a slight adjustment of the timing at idle made a quick change to the AFR vs. adding/removing fuel. For initial setup, I made my timing table look like a standard...

MS3X, full sequential fuel and spark using the Jeep cam sensor, LS coils with custom brackets on the back side of the intake. Once the air cleaner is installed, only a keen eye will notice no distributor. I've been very happy with the system so far. I made the entire engine harness. The most...

Hand ported Indy T/A head pics

I have a set of the Indybrocks from when they first came out. Didn't know they were still available. What is the advantage of the T&Ds? Different ratio? I have the 1.6 that came with the heads.
