Would my Duster run cooler with an electric puller fan?

Hey Mr. Alan, Ever get a temp reading besides the gauge? Would hate to see you go through all this trouble and expense, like I did, only to find your temp sender ($10) was bad. I figured this out after I bought a new radiator, water pump, hoses, etc.. I don't run a shroud and car maxes out at...

    Cracked Head?

Filled with water and pumped air into the cylinders today. No bubbles. Pumped psi into the coolant system and it held steady.

    Cracked Head?

This is similar to what I did earlier today but without the water in the radiator. I loosened the rocker shafts so all valves were closed then put 100psi into the cylinders which would bottom them out and then listened for leaks in the radiator. Tomorrow i'll fill it back up and check for bubbles.

    Cracked Head?

Lol that sounds about right when it comes my car. Never the obvious symptom or remedy but some random, sporadic, mis-hap that makes me scratch my head for a month. I upped the pressure even further on the radiator pressure tester and left it for a while and still no leakage. When this happened...

    Cracked Head?

So the mystery continues.............. Put pressure into the radiator until the hose were taught and left it there for half an hour. Came back and the pressure tester gauge has exactly the same reading. I turned the crank to a few different settings to see if the valve or piston positions...

    Cracked Head?

Thanks for all the tips.... MD, yes the heads were ported so maybe it developed a breach is what I am thinking. So far no coolant in the cylinders and my leakdown test showed no leaks to the radiator. Borrowing a radiator pressure tester today and will post results... Thanks agian

    Cracked Head?

My rear exhaust bolt has been hissing and I recently took it out cleaned it up and used Peramtex ultra copper on it. The next day when I started the car there was a stream of coolant squirting through the overflow tube in a timed sequence. The car was only on for 20 seconds or so before turning...

After searching for 1971 AC relays it looks like this could be an AC relay with a different, maybe smog state, mount?

Hi All. Just wanted to know your thoughts on the best place to take a temp reading. The Upper Rad hose? the front of the heads?

New gizmo for old problem. (Cool-View)

Let me know what you think about it. It's the kind of thing I brush off as an expensive luxury then 6 beers and credit card has it mysteriously appear on my porch.

New gizmo for old problem. (Cool-View)

If they offered a non-polished billet one for under $50 I'de buy one but $130 is too steep for my crappy engine bay.

Radiator leak sealer barrs etc. damage.

Hi All, So after pulling my heads off of my 273 I noticed that many of my coolant passages were almost completely sealed and the inside of the block looked a bright orange which I determined was just rust. It looked like some of the passages were welded shut which I thought was really...

    When Is Hot Too Hot?

I wondered the same thing. I have a hand held Temp Gun in the trunk that I point at various parts of the engine and radiator when I get a different than "normal" reading from the temp gauge. I now know pretty accurately what degrees the notches on the stock type gauge really are.

    Feedback!!! Champion Radiator

EC1635 The filler neck is about an inch too high so i had to notch out the bottom rad support to make it fit though. Back when I bought it, the product picture had a recessed filler neck but it actually looks like this: http://www.championradiators.com/page/424788098 This actually looks like...

    Feedback!!! Champion Radiator

Been running a 2-row 22" for a year now and has worked flawlessly. I'm not one for "magic in a can" but Water Wetter dropped the temp another notch and a half on the temp gauge as well. (30/70 mix)

radiator. what should i shop for?

I'm not one for snake oils but i did notice a considerable difference when i ran a 50/50 mix with "Water Wetter" in my aluminum radiator. But then again, other factors could have been at play.

New Champion Radiator for 273 project

If I weren't so impatient I would have sent mine back and ordered a shorter rad and THEN worried about the hoses etc. I was so focused on the hose placements that i could have got a better fit. I'm sure there's another application rad out there that works.

New Champion Radiator for 273 project

Yeah it's the 2 core. Not sure what the horsepower rating is but has worked well on my mild 273. I forgot the name but found them selling many rads on Ebay. I know they are located in the LA SOCAL area. There's dozens of distributors selling these things though.
