I ordered a "HIPO System" for early A's from them and changed a few variables like no resonator, a turn down rear pipe, and a quieter muffler. It fit well, sounds good, and after a hanger broke I called Tom and had a new one for free in a few days. Worth it.

I had a great experience with AccurateLTD and Tom Swope. The extra cost, to me, was worth the hassle free install and great fitment.

Thanks for the replies, you guys rock. I ground off the head. With a nice thick gasket (Remflex) should be fine. Also cut out the heater riser plate and will be tapping those holes tonight.

Any water passage under there?

That's what I am worried about. I am going to mock them up tonight and compare the space between the fenders wall with pictures of the stock placement.

The main concern is the fitment around the steering shaft. The 273 manifold (#2465847)flattens out and goes around it like this: I think I might be able to use an exhaust flange like this: on the driver side to clear the bump on the head and still clear the shaft.

From what I have read here (I think my eyes are bleeding at this point) the Early A 273 manifolds will not fit the 302 heads without some shaving off the head or manifold. I mocked them up and sure enough it is true. My original plan was to use the 273 manifolds and order the complete single...

I am in the same boat as the OP and am about pull the trigger on the HI-PO system. Just need to see if my 273 manifolds will fit on my 302 heads.

Careful what you wish for, especially if it is your daily driver. I gets really annoying and inconvenient after awhile.

Hi Gang, Hope everyone is having great holidays. Had a rear exhaust manifold bolt releasing steam after shutdown. Any advice on the best sealant for these bolts that pass through the water jackets? -Thanks in advance

Not trying to hijack here but what's a good way to prep rusty headers/manifolds for paint? I have grill paint but not sure if it will adhere to totally rusted manifolds.

I thought unequal lengths was the science behind performance headers. Doesn't the length compensate for unequal firing order?
