I'm not aware of any 71 duster emblems that were not decals. 70 models had the metal emblems on the rear of the front fenders. As noted earlier, the only metal emblam I'm aware of is the front and rear Plymouth emblems.

Evil, the facotry versions from 71 had Wedge in White. I know for certain for my 1st Duster had the v-24 code option. Once i get the Duster here next month, mine is also going to have the same look. Balckout hood with 340 Callout decal.

It's my understanding that both the 71 & 72 versions were the same. Flat black with CID callout. Usually white numerals angled like Evils.

Evil, I'm going from memory as the Duster isn't here, but I believe they are positioned inward from the front fender alignment.

Orangedust, the Valiant emblem is correct. Actually had nothing to do with number of options. It was used on 70 model Dusters only and then dropped with the 71 model production. It also had the rear deck transverse stripe kit as well if it was an VS29H code Duster.

1971 was the first year the Duster got its signature 340 call outs on the rear quarters. The 70 model had 340 stickers on her, but they were on the rearward side of each front fender under the Duster emblem. The 70 model had no large rear call out 340 emblems. That started in 71. The 1970 side stripes were affixed lower on the car sides. The 71 version and used on 72 models as well, followed the upper contour of the fender, door and rear quarter. These stripes would not be correctly interchanged between the 70 and 71 model Dusters.

Orangedust, the tranverse is the rear end trunk panel striping. The longitudial stripes go down the sides.
