    Remember the original Flex-a-lite?

I believe it was made special for the bicentennial. Package was dated 1976.

Well, it's cracked. How bad is it?

If it isn't cracked into a water jacket or oil passage I wouldn't be concerned about it. Don't look that bad from here.

    426 stroker, is it reliable?

Must not be a popular way to spend your engine dollar.

    426 stroker, is it reliable?

I understand some have love for the small block but I never understood the reasoning to stroke one. It just seems like the hard way to get there to me. Why wouldn't you just use a big block if you needed more cubes. If you need bigger than 440 you have no choice but a stroked assembly, I get...

    Block weight reduction?

I remember this topic discussed by the early pro stock missile team. Of course they were working with hemis. Ted had gradually removed weight from the block castings to the point he knew where to stop. I recall a photo of the pan rails being extensively milled. Article told how much weight was...

    Valve cover torque specs

First is to remove all oil from the v-cover and head sealing surface. Clean is important. Alcohol or acetone makes this fairly easy. I like to glue the gaskets to the covers with high heat silicone and let them cure. The orange stuff is what I use since my engines are painted orange. Though I...

How many times does a guy have to ask to stay out of his thread unless you have used the parts???

    rut row

While your in there with the welder being a racer get that rubber out from between the mount plates. I always should I say ALWAYS make a solid mount for the driver side even on a stick street car. This little trick will keep your z-bar from moving out of alignment when under load and...

My new 383 and oil pan compatability

I used a rear sump pan that had the dipstick tube attached with a brass fitting on my 150.

What's the deal with the Poly 318

Biggest problem is they became obsolete before the aftermarket developed them. I haven't had one in a couple decades but I liked them OK. Couldn't find anything for it. I mean nothing.

Stock looking small block aluminum heads?

I feel your pain. I never did like the look of billet aluminum on a classic car. It has that "half finished part" look.

I want a motor like this.

Remember how loud the Detroit diesels were when we were kids. Two stroke. Too loud. Oil blowing out everywhere. You never had to change the oil just top if off every few hours.

Finally figured it out!! Prototype underway!!

X2. I am already sure this new gizmo won't be going on my cars. I only use vintage parts to keep them period correct. Guess I'll just have to be slower than the rest of the world as my old Hemi won't have a chance. Dang progress passing me right by. All the best. Hope this part converts pump...

    Engine color 1969 Swinger 340

I've had two 69 340 swingers when I was younger. I remember the turquoise color but we called it Chrysler blue same as the 383s. It wasn't the same as the later blue.

    Modified Motor Mount

X2. Paint them flat black and they look just like a stock mount. Been doing this for years to keep the clutch linkage from going to far out of alignment. Works great. It does transmit a little more vibration thru the chassis. But having a predictable clutch pedal was always worth the trade...

    Carb help please!?

If it were me I would pull the bowl that is giving you problems. Check for the crud like mentioned above. But I would really look over the float as it goes through it travel. It may be hanging up and not allowing the needle and seat to function proper.

    354 Hemi Good? Bad? Ugly?

I personally would have rather seen it in a older car but those engines are great engines with tons of potential. Plenty of power even in stock form for a dart to feel weightless when she gets to breathing. And they breath easy. If it is running and drivable seems it would be a waist to...

    Procomp heads passed inspection

Always good to hear when a part checks out good. Thanks for sharing your experience with your purchase. So many bad reports from overseas products these days it is depressing. Glad to hear a success story. Let's hear about the rest of the engine.

    Aluminum valve covers

That's some impressive looking powder coating. Their gonna have ta send you the rest of the engine or even rest of the car. Seriously though cudachick those look great. Do you have a gallery we could check out some more of your work? I see a little bit here and there when I catch the right...
