How to change my small bolt pattern to big bolt pattern

Ok I'll bite. What are we looking at? The wheels you wish to put on your Mopar I presume. That blue frame musn't be whats left of your Mopar is it? Am I seeing rear engine?

'68 barracuda rebuild original disc brakes or get high performance kit

Another vote for rebuilding the original brakes. The only upgrade I would consider is the mustang rotor swap and only if you planned to use non stock wheels. Your original 4 piston fixed calipers is not a lacking design. Quite the opposite.

moving a master cylinder to the left to clear valve cover?

Need some extra room under the hood of the gasser? I haven't done it to an A-body without the block. Every car Ive built that is older than 1950 seemed to need the master cyl relocated. Most times welding in a flat mounting section and a bit of 1" angle iron bracing on the inside to keep the...

Oddball car - swap to disc - ideas?

The c body shoes and drums that are on the 8 3/4 will out last the pads, rotors and calipers of a disc set up by a large margin. Just mentioning this as some may not realize this. They do weigh a bit more but it is in the rear so it is of no real consequence to performance on a street car where...

Disc brakes for 8 3/4 using only Mopar parts

74-75 Chrysler imperial had rear disc with a drum E brake in the rotor hat. Probably uses obsolete rotors today?

Anybody know how to remove this?

Clamp the pushrod in a vice and pry the piston off with a couple prybars or screwdrivers. Leverage is key.

    NiCopper brake lines

Once you use that line you will never want any other kind ever again. Very easy to work with and last longer than any of us will ever live. It should be a law that all vehicles should use copper nickel just for safety. I have had wwII military trucks that still had every factory installed...

master cylinder lines with fenderwell headers.

The super stock cars used rubber caliper hoses. You should have all kinds of options on length.

    Question about backing plates

Did you have the stock 9" drums turned and buy shoes and hardware for them? Or did you spend your money on the 8 3/4 parts, wasn't sure if you got any brake parts with the axle to rebuild?

Strange situation on rear brakes - 67 Barracuda

If you do infact have 10" shoes and 11" drums then your donor brakes won't work with the large bolt axles. All you have to do is get the axles, backing plates, drums and shoes to be compatible with each other. I can't believe someone would mess this up so bad.

    aftermarket disc brake spindles?

I bought the repo spindles and had no problems with them at all. Got them from ramman. Good guy to deal with. I bolted on factory Cordoba caliper brackets no grinding necessary.

Strange situation on rear brakes - 67 Barracuda

It was mentioned above that the 10" drums are obsolete. I know this is just the back brakes and they do a small percentage of the braking but get that car so it is easily repaired with easy to get parts.

Strange situation on rear brakes - 67 Barracuda

What you are dealing with right now is why I think the a bodies had such a small following and never grew to gain the affection and popularity of the b bodies or the other brands of muscle cars. Their brakes were barely adequate freaks at best that had no interchange with nothing else. Even the...

Strange situation on rear brakes - 67 Barracuda

The a body axles have a shorter distance from the wheel mounting face to the housing flange face than the donor brake parts car had. These axle shafts weren't meant to hold 2 1/2" shoes. This is why the washers were required to make up this difference. You could change to large bolt axles and...

Strange situation on rear brakes - 67 Barracuda

I think your right. So they rub the backing plate? Put a few more washers on. Good to go. Just kidding don't do that. Can you really not get 10" replacement drums and the correct shoes? Or did someone just cheap out and cobble together what they had laying around. Last new set I bought was...

Strange situation on rear brakes - 67 Barracuda

I was thinking the same thing. Wasn't there a thread recently about this kind of repairs. A few measurements should get to the bottom of this.

    New Brake Lines

I have had the best results with copper nickel brake line. It has many benefits over plated or stainless steel. It is much easier to work with will last a life time and is even military spec. Will not rust. Is not brittle so it won't fracture. Malleable for a easy trouble free seal that can be...

    Help it is grinding bad

This is a guess without seeing it with my own eyes, but it sounds as if the axles were made for narrower drums. I believe the standard dimension from the bearing flange to wheel mounting flange is 2 1/2". If narrower you would need narrower brakes.
