I had them and hated them. Way to soft for my liking, and only lasted 2 years. I swapped them for the Bilsteins from PST and couldnt be happier.

I've found some measurements for manual vs. power steering shafts. Manual steering shaft is ~40-5/8" Power steering shaft is ~37.5" I have a manual shaft and Im wondering if I can collapse it to use as a power shaft and it still be safe and function properly??? Thoughts??

Nice score, that cooler you have has a different bracket than my original one.. I've seen that one around, but not the style in my pic.. I'll probably end up running the power steering with no cooler by the looks of it.

After a couple years of driving the my 71 Scamp with manual steering I'm considering putting the power steering back in. However when I pulled it I had a cooler, that I thought I would never use so I sold it. I dont see anything in my service manual about it and doing a google search came up...

Dont forget the coupler is different also. So that will have to be swapped as well. Otherwise that is really about it.

Im replacing the bushing in my rear suspension. I have the FSM, but Im questioning the torque specs for the rear shackles and mount. The rear spring mount says 30 ft. lbs., I was expecting more, but that is reasonable. The one I question is the shackles nuts, the FSM say 45 ft. lbs. for non...

My 71 Scamp, is running the 73 up LBP discs, but I've kept the 72 down tie rods,center link etc... I'm also using a 67 or 68 manual steering box. Just make sure what ever Idler and Pitman you buy are for the correct center link as they are different. Otherwise any of the steering boxes should...

If you can keep soaking it with some sort of penetrating oil and work it back and forth with the impact, you may be able to gain on it and eventually get it out. Otherwise, try heating it like mentioned. Oh and if its that bad of shape, I would get another set of them. Best of luck
