    '68 Barracuda nearing completion

just a few pics of the exhaust and underside of my '68 as the car nears completion. It's been a labour of love for the past ten years. In the last 3 years the car has been living away from me in Sydney after I moved a couple of thousand mils way for work, and I have seen it 2 times since then...

A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

Awesome work....has to be the best 'high end' build I have seen, everything executed perfectly. Red on Silver a great colour combo too.

"No Budget" 1966 Valiant 100 straight axle GASSER

An A body gasser? Can't wait to see it! Here's a couple of clips of one prepared earlier over here in Oz (I think using an Oz Valiant hardtop as donor car, with Dart front clip). YouTube- Dartattack smokin them up YouTube- gasser dodge dart DARTATTAK VTS 01 1

    68 Barracuda FB S clone

Random pics of new block partially re-assembled. H beam rods, forged pistons, cast crank. Been buying lots of goodies, sent directly to a mate of mine back in Sydney (he took these pics) so unfortunately I dont get to see or play with them before install...lol

    68 Barracuda FB S clone

The second (or maybe third) dash I've had in the car. This one I made myself from aluminium. Still not quite happy with it will probably get the whole thing chromed and then detailed with black wrinkle powdercoat, leaving the "barrels' in chrome similar to the original style dash. will also get...

    68 Barracuda FB S clone

At its new home, pending completion of 408 build. In second pic note re-located oil filter on inner fender, running lines directly into the block to create more clearance for right hand rack and pinion steering shaft and headers.

On the way to its new home prior to my departure interstate. Notice anything different about the front bumper?

    68 Barracuda FB S clone

Haven't posted progress information or pics on here for ages, thought I might update things. Since I started this thread in December 2008 plans have changed somewhat (don't they always during a lengthy build?). Engine started as 360, but now in process of having 408 stroker built, roller cam...

    68 Cuda

Put kerosene in a spray bottle. Spray an area liberally and allow to soak in. Then use a putty knife to scrape it off. Easy enough, but a filthy, dirty job. I know.

    My 1967 Cuda Restoration

Can you weld die cast? I can see how the inner housing "popped" out given the inner housing is bolted to the body brackets and effectively wants to pull itself away from the outer housing. So gluing the inner to the outer housing was never going to be an effective method of manufacture...

    1968 Barracuda S Model

I'm enjoying this thread, love to see build pics....what colour is that, green or turquoise I cant quite tell, looks nice and different though are you keeping the same colour? cheers

    1968 Barracuda Fastback

Should look nice! I should do that as well, the trunk area looks a little unfinished in our fastbacks.

    1968 Barracuda Fastback

I second that. The orange paint is going to obfuscate the grill. I ended up blacking out mine (after being freshly painted) and the grill looks much, much better....

    My 1967 Cuda Restoration

Looking great Tony! Been waiting for updates on this thread, one of the more meticulous restos on this site IMHO. Nothing like pics of a freshly painted car, and black on red is one of my favourite combos, considered it long and hard for my 68 before opting for blue on black, but at least I can...

Brazilian Dodge Dart 76 (similar to 69 usa)

Sure Alex, a few more pics here (cannot send direct to your private email as I am presently at work). The sunvisors and rear venetian blinds were common on Aus. Valiants.

Brazilian Dodge Dart 76 (similar to 69 usa)

Ola! I'm enjoying this thread and your ingenuity in making do with what you have. Those Brazilian Dodges are very nice. In Australia we had a very limited production run "Mexicana" 1970 VG hardtop which had the same "swooped" C panels as your Chargers. Chrysler Australia obviously borrowed...

    snooz you loose

Glad I jumped on mine when a friend mentioned that a friend of a friend had one. Hard to come by over here in Australia. They were only ever used on the limited production C body Dodge Phoenix (ie. a rebadged 4 door Fury) in this country. Paid $200, had the housing shortened, picked up a 3.55...

    ABodyBetty's new baby comes home!!!

Nahhhh....it's a Coat of Arms. And a Royal one too, look at the Crown atop it. No doubt in her deep past Fern has spent some time in England as the personal carriage of the her Royal Highness, Elizabeth, no less. Or mayhaps a stint in Canada during a Royal visit? (I would have used a rolling...

    Duplicolor Rattlecan Restoration

Looks nice - I hope it holds up well. I've achieved very good results in the past using VHT vinyl dye, cant say enough good things about it.

    Bezels

I've bought a lot of trim and other parts from PG Classic and the quality has always been as good if not better than supposed US produced parts. And their prices are always lower in my experience.

    Project Plain Jane

Not knocking your plans for the car at all, but pure sentiment tells me that it'd be nice to see it done more to original form, given the car is woven into the fabric of your marriage (and life) and would serve as an heirloom to be handed down to your son that way. That said, good luck with your...

    69 barracuda notchback

Hope ur going to re-paint it the factory scheme...triple black would have to be very rare and would look so good on a 69 notch .... good luck with the build!

    67 form S trans painted?

I believe it was left unpainted. If you want to paint it you could you do it cast iron grey to replicate a natural finish.

    Gagster's '68 G Machine

I think you're on the right track with a mostly stock appearing car. You can make a "G-machine" out of anything, but here you have a factory 383S car and that rareness and credibility would become lost in a highly restified car. Just my personal preference, but I'm not enamoured with the make it...

    68 Barracuda hood inserts

That's a 67 you have there Memike. The 68 340S and 383S fetch the big bucks. I have a set for my 68 but am half-considering making a custom set out of billet aluminium with close weave wire mesh inserts made to look like gills, if you will, just for a bit of fun.

    pictures of my progress

Reminds me of the early stages on my 68, doing the engine bay, taking it back to bare metal. I love to see this kind of stuff. There's an immense feeling of satisfaction to be gained from doing the hard, dirty, yards yourself and seeing a car come together, learning all the way. Keep it up...
