At its new home, pending completion of 408 build. In second pic note re-located oil filter on inner fender, running lines directly into the block to create more clearance for right hand rack and pinion steering shaft and headers.

Put kerosene in a spray bottle. Spray an area liberally and allow to soak in. Then use a putty knife to scrape it off. Easy enough, but a filthy, dirty job. I know.

Can you weld die cast? I can see how the inner housing "popped" out given the inner housing is bolted to the body brackets and effectively wants to pull itself away from the outer housing. So gluing the inner to the outer housing was never going to be an effective method of manufacture...

Should look nice! I should do that as well, the trunk area looks a little unfinished in our fastbacks.

I second that. The orange paint is going to obfuscate the grill. I ended up blacking out mine (after being freshly painted) and the grill looks much, much better....

Looking great Tony! Been waiting for updates on this thread, one of the more meticulous restos on this site IMHO. Nothing like pics of a freshly painted car, and black on red is one of my favourite combos, considered it long and hard for my 68 before opting for blue on black, but at least I can...

Ola! I'm enjoying this thread and your ingenuity in making do with what you have. Those Brazilian Dodges are very nice. In Australia we had a very limited production run "Mexicana" 1970 VG hardtop which had the same "swooped" C panels as your Chargers. Chrysler Australia obviously borrowed...

Glad I jumped on mine when a friend mentioned that a friend of a friend had one. Hard to come by over here in Australia. They were only ever used on the limited production C body Dodge Phoenix (ie. a rebadged 4 door Fury) in this country. Paid $200, had the housing shortened, picked up a 3.55...

Looks nice - I hope it holds up well. I've achieved very good results in the past using VHT vinyl dye, cant say enough good things about it.

I've bought a lot of trim and other parts from PG Classic and the quality has always been as good if not better than supposed US produced parts. And their prices are always lower in my experience.

I believe it was left unpainted. If you want to paint it you could you do it cast iron grey to replicate a natural finish.

I think you're on the right track with a mostly stock appearing car. You can make a "G-machine" out of anything, but here you have a factory 383S car and that rareness and credibility would become lost in a highly restified car. Just my personal preference, but I'm not enamoured with the make it...

That's a 67 you have there Memike. The 68 340S and 383S fetch the big bucks. I have a set for my 68 but am half-considering making a custom set out of billet aluminium with close weave wire mesh inserts made to look like gills, if you will, just for a bit of fun.

Reminds me of the early stages on my 68, doing the engine bay, taking it back to bare metal. I love to see this kind of stuff. There's an immense feeling of satisfaction to be gained from doing the hard, dirty, yards yourself and seeing a car come together, learning all the way. Keep it up...
