    i wonder maybe if your on the ported vacume hole so when you open it timing jumps up and you turn it down and timimg goes way down and with a posible lean from your idle mix not working it stalls. make sure vac tube is not hooked up if you have one try again

    you are correct it wont move the dash pot till about 10 inchs or so. run it there its fine in my opion. thats the way i have it on my RR it idle at about 5 inchs also. it help keep the plugs cleaned up and not fouling and its a milage increase and my engine runs slightly cooler.

    i have never seen a cam that made your engine not make enough vac... only move the higher vac at a higher rpm. hope that makes sense but if your cam pushes the vac that high in the rpm i hope your useing gears to match
