Definitely a slow leak

Another advantage of spray foam is mice don’t make nests in it. We had the shop at work spray foamed about 5 years ago and the mouse issue we use to have went away. The fact that it also eliminated any drafts in the building was a major plus. We did 4 inches On the walls and 6 in the ceilings.

While they need to be cleaned up it may not solve the issue. Most tanks use a check valve where the air gets pumped into the tank. That allows air to go in but not put pressure on the pistons. With that corrosion there is probably some in that check valve that is not allowing it to close.

Look into having it spray foam insulated. It will not only do a good job on insulating but also does a great job at sealing the air leaks

Steve the motor is 12 v dc. It will vary in voltage depending on where the speed control is set. You can jump a couple wires from a good battery and se it the motor will spin.
