Biggest tire on Stock 67-69 Dart

I had 275/60s on my dart BFG drag radial. Its super tight and required a custom wheel by Bogart. I had a 1/4 inch on either side with the lip rolled flat. When it was at stock height it only rubbed with 2 250# guys in it and an extreme driveway turn. And even then it only rubbed the inside wheel...

Trouble with MT ET Street Radials

I just calculated it out to just over 10 ounces. I have found that you are battling some differnet things here. First off most bias sticky tires take a lot of weight to balance, although I have found radials to be much better they can still take a lot of weight since they are so big. Second, as...

    Nitto NT555R Drag Radials

I have run the BFG drag radial on my mid 11 second Swinger and was able to get with a few hundredths of my ET street Bias ply. The problem with the drag radials was if it spins a little it would go up in smoke and there was no recovery, I heard the ET street radial is much better at this. I...

    Best burnout picture

Here is my turbo Dart back in 1988 when it had a solid cammed 273 in it. By the way it was before I had my license.

    Largest size wheels.

I run a 275/60r15 in my Dart. Its the 70 in my avatar. Its real low and only rubs going into extreme driveways and it rubs the top of the fenderwell. Its on a 15x7 Bogart with 6 1/8 backspace.

    wider tire and traction

A wider wheel will not lower your RPM. A 275/60R15 looks pretty silly on a 10 inch rim. A 10.5 slick will work on a ten inch fine. The difference in weight between the two wheels is in ounces=not much difference. IMHO your car is a street/strip car and I would buy one tire and wheel set up. A...

    Narrowing rear diff.

I just ran across my notes for my 70 Swinger. The rear is stock length A body with a 15x8 Bogart with 6 1/8 backspace. I run a 28 11.5 ET street. Its tight but it fits and barely rubs when going into extreme driveways. My guess 6 inches. I would measure for sure.

    Qtp's vs. M/t e.t. Streets (non-radial)

Mickey T recommends that you rotate the tires every 6-10 runs. When I finally started doing my tires started to last longer. Just thought I would mention that.

Rally rims are on my Duster!

Looks great! Even better in person. Isn't it amazing how rims make the car?

    Qtp's vs. M/t e.t. Streets (non-radial)

I ran QTPs and M/Ts back to back. The QTPs worked real good when they were fresh, less than 30 runs, then they kinda went away and you really didn't notice it till the new set are on. The Mickey Ts are more consistent and last longer and like less burnout. When comparing a new set of QTPs to...

    Mickey Thompson Tires "Suck"

I have used Mickey T's for years and have had the same problems you are expressing. I found that pretty much all the different manufacturers have the same problem. Lotsa weight and the casing seems to move around a lot when you view it on the balancer. Drag radial and radial slicks dont have...

    cop wheels

If your rearend is stock length then they will fit. I used to run a 28x9 M/T slick or a 255/60 r15 radial tire with minimal rubbing. I dont have any pics because it was so long ago. I will try to scan some tomorrow.
