383 Combo evaluation lets call it

My 383 was same bottom end. Had comp cam 292h. Think it was .525 lift .252 @ .050 ram eddy performer rpm heads and victor intake. 750 pro form. 4500 dynamic converter and 4:10 rear gear. My dart went 11.60’s all day

I load converter to 2500 it flashes at close to 6k now. Best 60’ has been 1.420. I’m running 325/50/15 et street R’s and car hooks well. I shift at 6800 and trap 129-131 at 7200. The 470 loves it and never stops pulling

I wasnt trashing you just to be clear. I dig your build. Was just sharing my personal experience. Which happens to be a great tunnel ram setup that I built with the help of members here that have been there done that. I was just being blunt about it. Look forward to progress reports

Your not going to be happy at all with 2800 stall! It’s part of the reason tunnel rams got a bad reputation on the street. People run them because they look cool but don’t build a combo that runs. You need rear gear and stall to make the most of it. I’d run 4500 stall. Now before people start...

Here is my setup! When built properly they make power all across the rpm range. This thing makes a ton of torque and is super crisp! Zero hesitation.

You read what I wrote at all? I said the aftermarket stuff is better by far in several ways. I also said that they are designed for handling, comfort, modern handling and direct bolt in ease. Better at 9/10 things then torsion bars. Extreme drag race application is outside of the norm. As for...

He’s right. The coil overs are great on streeet. They handle well, are predictable and make the car easy to handle. They do however limit suspension travel. Most guys buy them for these purposes and dont feed 600+ hp thru them. That is why guys are suprised. These kits work well for most...

    How much hp/torq will an OEM 833 4sp and 8 3/4 take?

Will be fine until you put sticky tires on it. Traction kills parts. I'm not sure what your build will consist of but sub 600hp should be fine. The rear will go before trans. Then clutch and the trans if you make enough power. A slipper clutch would cure this but more of a race setup. I'd talk...
