    Zerk Not Threading

In these new chinesium parts you might do just as well to plug it with bubble gum. As long as its pre greased, the grease in it will likely outlast the part. LOL (disclaimer: this post for entertainment only - I would still want the fitting in there) :D

    Zerk Not Threading

Regular zerks are not going to thread well. There are self tappers or use drive in type.

Unless they are almost new, like under 2 years with hardly any miles... I would definitely change them!

    Torsion bar setting

Nothing critical to check before taking apart. As said. read up on the details in FSM. If you don't have one they are on Mymopar.com. Make sure your bars are correct and L and R on correct sides. Driver side =Left. Be sure the suspension is relaxed/hanging down when bars are put back in or...

Would you be doing the rebuild? If so, crawl under and see what youve got already. :poke:

Cutoff disc should make quick work of it if not needed.

    Coupler pin removal

I don’t know about piece of cake. But with the right punch and a few good whacks, the roll pin should be doable. Hit the other one a few times and did not budge. Looked ok, so it stayed.

    Poly leaf spring bushings

I have them in my stock springs, 2' eyes. Outer shells removed. They were a 'slip' fit. Not sloppy, but slid right in.

    Refurbishing Upper Control Arms (UCA)

Yep, lots of good stuff here. Wish I would have 'discovered' vinegar sooner. Would have saved a lot of time with a wire wheel on a drill. I did some evaporust at much higher cost and I think vinegar works better. Only advantage of the evapo is it did not re-rust right away if not coated soon.

Poly eye leaf bushings with 9/16 bolt hole?

Interesting... Mine are stock 2" and originally had 9/16 bolts. Could not find any such bushing when I did them. So, drilled the holes and upsized the bolts to 5/8.

Weld stud size for leaf spring

That would certainly get the job done. Not sure what grade they should be, 5 or 8 3/8-16 x 1-1/4. Don't know anything about the spline sizing. How many do you need? I have a junk hanger with 2 useable studs...

    Front Leaf Spring bolt size?

I thought the smallest they used was 1/2". My 75 slant Duster had the larger 2" eye with a 9/16 bolt. :wtf: I increased them to 5/8 when I replaced the bushings.

    new T bar

I just eyeballed it when I put mine together. IIRC the main one of concern is LCA if using stock type rubber. If poly, I don't think it matters. It was a long time between my suspension install and alignment. Car was moved many times before I had all the glass in and bumpers on. Finally...

But, good chance your problems go deeper... Maybe bad bushings, weak T-bars... How bad was the bump that drove it up there?

    Moog LCA Bushings

I knew Moog parts were different. Recently got Sway bar links for my Magnum and they were cast completely different than the set I put on a few years ago (Moog, but also junk, lol) Did not know they boxed another mfgs parts.

Gouges /scratches on torsion bars.. are they useable?

I used a vice grips with some copper sheet metal I had for backing up welds. Just like a soft jaw for a vise. I wouldn't be afraid to dress them up a little, just don't want to go too deep as it is taking away from the bar. Mine actually came with a broken bar and a junkyard replacement. What...

    UCA bolts stuck rant

Apparently they are hardened. I took a pair of uppers off a car that sat in the weeds for years couple weeks ago. After soaking in PB Blaster and Kroil, then prying pounding on them for a while I burned up a couple good blades and barely touched them. Went back to beating the crap out of them...

Hard to say without knowing what you have. Assuming a worn out stock suspension... Poly rebuild kit and 1.03 T-bars seams to get it done for many.

    Torsion Bar Woes... or Woahs

No way that ‘repair’ passed annual inspection in PA. Did it have a window sticker? If so they paid for the sticker, not the inspection. My understanding of MD is they inspect when a car changes hands. After that you can do what you want, but a trooper can bust you for not keeping it up to...

Help with rear leaf spring bushings

If still needed, I have a set of Energy Suspension for 1.5" eye I'll give you a good deal on if interested... My slant 6, 7-1/4 rear, 75 Duster had a 9/16" bolt and 2" eye. :BangHead: So I needed the larger bushings and had to open up holes on hangers for new 5/8 bolts. Had already bought the...

    pin stuck in steering coupling

While I would have agreed with this definition of the 2 types previously. Looking them up recently...They are both spring pins because they are larger than the hole the go in and compress/spring to fit and hold. They are also both roll pins 'cause they are rolled steel. To clearly...

What kind of paint are you using on suspension, steering, and brake parts?

I used a variety of spray can paints to get colors I wanted. Mostly Rustoleum, which is holding up better than some of the others. Been about 4 years and I have some rust spots on areas that were mostly 'other' brands. Rust on - Engine which is Mopar paint with VHT primer, strut rods that...
