    peanut head plugs

Robert (I know you call yourself Bob, but that's not really your name, is it?), Did you ever do donuts in a parking lot? I did, and there were no fried dough rings involved. I do know the physical difference between the plugs and the heads. But I like peanuts! regular, dry roasted, cajun...

    slant 6 oil weight

We have some old machines at work. I try to figure out what oil they are supposed to have. But sometimes it comes to ‘any oil is better than no oil’ to keep them running.

    What’s with all these washers?

Probably used that bolt and washers to put it back on. Start with one washer. Crank it down. Add more, tighten more. Etc, till its all the way on and left them all there.

    Is this nut on backwards?

As I recall, it can be done with a socket and extension. But yes PITA for sure. You just kinda aim the socket at it till you feel it engage. Cause you can’t see it as you do it. I ‘cheated’ putting it back on. Had the engine on a stand... and still dropped the damn thing a couple times...

    Engine stand bolts

Wish it had stayed that purdy. Little bit of rust coming through and a few scratches now... That stand is one step up from what I used.

    Engine stand bolts

Here's a couple shots with mine on HF stand. I don't recall what bolts I used..Had to get creative to line up mounting holes and keep block close to center to rotate. I added a stabilizer outrigger that I could put wood blocks under.

    Washer set for manifolds

Hemi Performance (also Aus) has these. They note that they are flat. But I think these are closer to original shape and a few bucks cheaper. As long as they are around, I would rather have used originals though.

    peanut head plugs

Bob, Thanks for the input, but many of us here are far from experts. We might not have a clue how to figure out our ideal reach and heat range. We just want a plug that is going to work. So we ask questions and make decisions based on the answers we get. Maybe those answers are fact, maybe...

    peanut head plugs

Ok, I will just go ahead and add to the confusion. Here is what I actually put in and I don't remember why I went with this. As I know my original plan was to use the 5s. I took a pic along side of plug that was in it when I got it. the overall plug is a little shorter, but the part that...
