Ford 4.9 question. Yes ford question

Another way to do it and retain what you have is to find a power steering delete pulley. That would be a much cheaper way and then you would retain the serpentine belt. The water pump pulley would have enough wrap to work fine just running from the water pump, bypassing the air pump going...

IF she could....and that's a good idea, but I am almost 100% positive none with the serpentine setup had an adjustable alternator.

Ford 4.9 question. Yes ford question

You likely will need an earlier alternator. Plus of course the alternator brackets, and water pump and crankshaft V belt pulleys. You'll also need another water pump, as the one you have now spins counter clockwise.

Ford 4.9 question. Yes ford question

I wasn't sure if the pulleys would interchange with older ones. Would I need a new altenanator or can I change the pulley? I'm thinking a 78 or 9 ish 4.9 would have the v belt pulleys and brackets. I need to get rid of the current altenanator bracket because it's the one piece...

I think i broke rear main bearing

I think it happened when I tried to torque it. This time I just did it by hand. It looks like it was machined both sides before it was put together.

You don’t think that was my first repair like that do you? I’ve been doing this a LONG time and I’ve never EVER had one fail. So if you or your buddy is failing them, take a look in the mirror. It’s essentially the same repair for spark plug holes. Zero failures there too. I don’t need luck.

Any welding done on that cap to repair it and you risk heating it until it's out of shape. Think about it. There's really only one correct way to do it. Fix it with bubble gum. My car runs great!

    Headers vs. Manifolds

I don't think B body HP manifolds are going to fit in an A body so the discussion might be moot. However, in a B body you can build a performance engine that doesn't give up much power to headers. You have to be very, very careful with the cam selection but 500 hp isn't a problem with HP...

I have an 88 f250 brick nose and I bought it with the smog pump disabled, the serpentine was changed to avoid the smog pump. So now I'm changing it to a quick ratio manual steering so I need to delete the power steering pump and bracket which also has the tensioner. Can I convert a serpentine...

Gotcha. Obviously, I wasn't going to shoot that spider with birdshot until he was away from that panel. Lol. But he did make the mistake of being on the frame above the entrance door one day. Point and shoot without really aiming. Grease spot and a few of his "steppers" was all that was left...

Just quoting you, buddy. You said it yourself. Anything other than another main cap and align honing it to mate with the block is half assin it. If you use the original cap it is already sized to your block. Take it off , Fix it and put it back on, If the bearing looks good reuse it.

1968 Dart sudden rear end noise.

There are differential rebuild kits for '68 > 7 1/4 rear ends on rock auto. May have to send out the diff housing to a machine shop to weld and redrill the center pin holes if they are egged out. Here you go: May be other parts on their site for 7 1/4 too besides these.... ☆☆☆☆☆
