    360 vs 383

My '69 383 Super Bee was a lightweight bench seat coupe with a 4-speed and 3:91 gears. The only options were sure grip, power steering with a cooler, and a radio. It ran pretty good, but when I put on headers, Crane Cam, lifters and springs, Edelbrock Torquer and a 750 double pumper I dipped...

CSR Performance Products Scattershield Clearance Issues

Access holes are the only way to go in my opinion. That's the route I went on my '66 Dart. I also went with socket cap bolts on those top two to make it easier to feed the bolts through. Makes taking the transmission out a whole lot easier, especially in an early A body.

What is the horse power benefits

Yeah, you start using more lung power with a stroker and you're gonna need better heads real quick.

New Mancini Timing Cover Fitment Issue

I helped @Turbo440Dart replace a timing cover on his duster with a 360 and I believe he got a Mancini repop cover. It was a nightmare to install but using the oil pan bolts to pull it down solved the fight we had with it. You can read it in his thread here; Dumpster diver 70 Duster build...

New Mancini Timing Cover Fitment Issue

I kinda figured, but I've always had the right parts for the engine & same for the kits, so the rear seal is only change to them. Hoping I don't have to shop a new cover soon apparently.....

New Mancini Timing Cover Fitment Issue

Anyone smarter than a box of rocks can make pattern off of a good or 'repaired' cover & cast an exact replica, that means they changed it on purpose, or they laser scanned it to make the pattern & something was off in the transfer.

1966 Plymouth Valiant Shift Linkage Help

Thank you! This is a great group to be a part of. I have lubricated the linkage, I replaced the clutch less than 500 miles ago And the fluid level in trans is good. It shifted fine with the new clutch and just recently started doing this. I was assuming it’s linkage issue because that’s where it...

    360 vs 383

My Avenger RT goes pretty good, there impressive little engines, got to be decently into the 300's gross hp, plus there geared to take advantage of the power they make. That's a 12.39:1 Total 1st gear Gear Ratios1ST 4.127, 2ND 2.842, 3RD 2.283, 4TH 1.452, 5TH 1.00, 6TH 0.69 Reverse 2.21...

    360 vs 383

Yes, that's very true, but remember, they have technology on their side, too. They're measured using NET HP, not gross. I'd like to see some gross numbers on the newer engines. There's no denying technology has really made a big difference. I bet the gross numbers would be at least 25% more...

I bought a Summit Racing Crankshaft

I was looking at these recently and wondering if they were any good. Can you tell us which part number you ordered? Also, post a couple more pictures showing the entire crankshaft and then a closeup of that rod journal in the first picture. Is that an undercut journal?

    360 vs 383

Not to sidetrack, but a 3.6 V6 2015 Challenger will run 14.6 and keep up with 80% of the "muscle cars" of the 60's/70's. But again, for the time and era, I think the 383 and 360 did well.
