Possible wrong lower kick down rod for my 340/727

So I had my 68 Barracuda out for it's first ride in 40 years, not shifting correct no 3rd gear. I took a look at the kickdown rod set up that was included with all the parts when I bought it and it looks like the lower rod is to long. With it connected the lever on the trans is all the way back...

FOUND!!! Small block 727 trans tube picture

I need a good picture of a small block 727 trans tube, I have a few tubes laying around that I tried to line up but they don't look like they are for a 727 Thanks Bob

Need Help Identifying Some Dust Shields

I picked up some parts today and these were in there. Even though it says on the tape that it is for a big block 727 it looks different than the other 727 big block dust covers. It does have a part number stamped in it #4295849 which I have tried MY Mopar parts look up and tried googling it and...

    Rear end gear size?

Is there a formula or a chart to tell what size gear is in the rear end of an 8 3/4 without pulling out the pig and reading what's stamped on it? it has been so long since I did something like this I just can't remember how it's done. Thanks Bob

    1960's 727 trans verses 1980's 727 trans

I still need a 727 SB trans for this 1968 Barracuda with a 340 engine, there is a guy near me with a 727 SB trans that was pulled off a 360 motor from a 1984 2 wheel drive truck. Will this trans bolt up and work for what I need, I know I will have to go through the trans before it is installed...

    273/904 torque converter

I was on the horn with Summit today asking about a torque converter for my 66. Told him what was in it and what my plans were. 1966 273 30 over flat top pistons 9.5:1 from what I can remember, Comp cam and lifter kit CCA-CL20-210-2, installing a 1966 factory 4bbl intake, has a 8 3/4 rear end...

Wanted Green 39 tooth Speedo Gear

Well when I went from the 7 1/4 276 gear rear end to the 8 3/4 355 gear I forgot about the speedo. Went for a cruise out to the Fenton car show yesterday and Dam I was going 100 miles an hour, didn't seem like it. I looked at the charts for speedo gears and it looks like I need 39 tooth gear...

    Bolt Hole Distance 7 1/4, 8 1/4, and 8 3/4 Rear Axle Pinion Snubbers

It looks to me like the 7 1/4 and the 8 1/4 rear axle pinion snubber bracket mounting holes are 2 5/8" from center to center and the 8 3/4 rear axle bracket is 2 1/4" center to center. Is there anyone out there who can verify this for me, or give me the correct center to center hole distance...

    Correct Length Pinion Snubber Bracket

I am just about ready to install my A body 8 3/4 rear end in my 1966 Barracuda. The center section does not have a pinion snubber on it so I have been looking at some that are available. There appears to be three different lengths for the bracket an 8" large, a 6" medium, and I believe the last...

    7 1/4 to 8 3/4 rear end interchangeable parts

I am going to put a A body 8 3/4 rear end in my 66 Barracuda and was wondering if since the 7 1/4 has 10" brakes and the 8 3/4 has 10" brakes and everything in the 7 1/4 is new, will the brake shoes and all the hardware fit on the 8 3/4, and also can I use the park brake cables from the 7 1/4...

Better gearing for my 7 1/4 SBP rear axle

Now that I am just about done with my brake swap it's time for me to think about changing that 276 gear that's in my 7 1/4 SBP axle. I do not really hot rod my Barracuda around but I would like a little taller gear say a 323 or 355 and would also like a sure grip. Are there still companies out...

Switching from 904 to 727 column shifter

OK so I have been reading up on the SB 904 trans swap to the SB 727 trans and the column shift linkage. I have all the 904 column shift linkage but from what I am reading the 727 needs a shorter rod from the frame bracket to the trans bracket, and also looks like it takes a different bracket...

    Correct transmission for the car?

How can I tell if my 74 318 Scamp came with this 727 transmission, is there a code somewhere that identifies the transmission. Thanks Bob
