Sigh... I used to know all this stuff... I just found a 727 behind a 360 in a pick-up truck. It had a -489 case 8 3/4 out back, with 2.92 gears. I don't know if either of those would be an indicator that the trans has beefier guts in it. What's a small block 727 go for these days? Money...
