I have a 489 housing 8-3/4" with what I assume has a crush sleeve that has lost tension. I get a growl around 70mph and up. The gears only have about 4000 miles on them. I was battling a driveline vibration for a while, which is now solved, but I'm thinking that vibration may have taken a toll...

What rear end gears are you guys running with your TKO-500? I find the first gear in the tranny to be really low when combined with my 3.91s. I'm thinking of switching to 3.55 or 3.23. Anyone out there with either of those?
