Going through my bottom end and was wondering if anyone has the main and rod bearing clearance numbers on a 1977 4 barrel 360 cast crank. Also looking for crankshaft end play specs.

So I'm pulling the motor out of my Aspen and sure enough it's a 360 but for some odd reason it has 318 heads on it. Any thoughts as to why they would do that? Performance gains? compression gains? Or are 318 heads the same basically as the 360 heads on a later LA engine?

I'm going to pick up my aspen today and the owner of the car has no idea what engine is in it because his brother swapped it out 15-20 years ago and passed away. Is there a quick way to tell beside looking for X heads?

Just came across a 1970 340 and I wonder what is a fair price for this motor. Casting # 2780930-340-6 with a casting date of 5-8-70. Wanna know if I should jump on it.

So guys that run the 5.9 magnum motor what is out there to tune them with? Being a speed density f/i setup swapping the cam or the intake will mess with the ve tables and make the engine run like crap so is there tuning software out there for these engines?
