Starts, Runs, runs badly, won’t take pedal. Bangs out the exhaust. Im down to changing the plugs and maybe cap and wires. It’s cheap enough. Im tracking this problem down. Found this on one of the plugs I pulled out. What causes this?

Are there any issues with using the magnum type 5/8” drive spark plugs on the older LA heads that had 13/16” drive plugs? Dia, reach, and gasket all look the same to me.

How far would you trust one of these? Certain lift? Duration? Can only cut what is there! the base circle gets ground away a bit for the extra lift. And that means longer push rods. AND the lifter drops further in the bore. Can the base circle get too small?

I notice there are 2 long required on the top row. And somewhere in their literature states 0.100” longer is also required. No one I know has these now. So, I was wondering what my alternatives are.

I’m not concerned w the 318. But what is the difference in external balance between the 360 LA and Mag? A lot? Enough to be concerned if not racing? I’d like to used original parts because I am cheap but have a couple questions. Mag 5.9 flexplates only bolt to 727 circle pattern converters...
