Can you un-bolt and flip the front spring hangers on an early a-body to lower the car? i have heard that this will work and lower the car about an inch?

how are you guys mounting the 5.9 magnum engines in the early a-body's. are they the same as other small blocks? would any early a-body small block engine mount work?

I am in middle of purchasing a 65 valiant. the car has a 4-speed transmission hump. I want to run an automatic with a cable operated floor shifter. the seller is going to cut the 4-speed hump out and take the pedel assmebly. how hard is it to patch the floor back with the auto trans tunnel.
