i had bought a new holley 1920 carb and was woundering when the engine is cold is the choke meant to be open or close? Also if you know what type of choke thermostat i need for my car? thanks.

the choke on my 1970 plymouth duster wont close but when i get it close it just opens. the pully that hooks up to the choke pushes it in. i thought its suppose to push the choke so when you step on the gas it open the choke? any advise would be great thanks.
