    Lifter pre-load, school me!

OK, I've been running my 440 Duster around for a couple of years now, Whatever I try to do to tune it, it just wont rev past about 5200 rpm. combo is: 10.2 to 1 440, untouched Edelbrock RPM heads, Lunati 10230703 "Voodoo" cam, old # 60303, Edelbrock dual quad manifold with 2 600cfm Eddy carbs. &...

    PCV oil seperator

Just finished this today, I built it from a 2nd hand store cookie maker, two stainless steel scouring pads, two brass 5/16 hose barb adapters, and a radiator drain valve, total cost, less than 10 bucks! this will keep oil out of the intake manifold, & who knows I might even be able to run a...

    Edelbrock valve springs

I've got a Lunatti cam #60303, (268 dur. 494 lift) and Edelbrock RPM cyl. heads, the car has trouble pulling past 5500 rpm, I'm pretty sure my ignition problems are solved, I'm wondering if it might be the springs on these heads, .(Lunatti says the cam is good to 6200 RPM)

    Pulling the oil pan?

Ok, I've noticed that when I go w.o.t in 1st or 2nd gear my oil pressure drops dramatically. I figure the oil is sloshing to the rear of the pan & uncovering the oil pickup, (I tested this theory by accelerating on a down hill grade & oil pressure climbs & remains stable) anyway I figure I need...

    Started & broke in !

I broke in the cam on my 440 Duster build today ! After getting the engine static timed, The oil & fuel primed, it fired almost instantly ! Brought her up to 2200 rpm, & held it there for 20 min. with an occasional rev to 3500. It got a little warm, but temp was brought down by soaking the...

    Static timing fresh 440

Ok, I'm real close to firing off the new 440 in my Duster, & I may or may not have any "help" when the time comes, instead of fumbling around with a timing light when the engine first fires, can I "static" time it close enough for cam break in ? From what I understand, with the engine at tdc on...

    Eddy spark plug recomendations

I haven't bought spark plugs for my Duster 440) yet, Edelbrock calls for small block plugs. What brand & part # (for those who have the Edelbrock heads) are you using ???? I've got the 84cc heads & 10.3 to 1 compression, if that makes any difference.

    440 Engine install

My 727 will be ready in a few days, so I'll be ready to start bolting this thing together, (74 Duster) I have 1 question; What is the most hassle free way to go about this (I've installed plenty of small blocks in A- bodies) but never a 440) is it easier to put the transmission in first ? or the...

    Valve cover options

Ok, From what I understand, my polished Mopar Performance valve covers will not clear the factory heater motor in my 74 Duster.( I'm using the Schumacher mounts on a 440) I wouldn't be against grinding down a few fins, but I don't want to get into cutting & welding them. So what are my other...
