I have a 727 transmission in my 67 Dart and the Transmission Dipstick Tube Is leaking around the o ring. I tried a new o ring and I tried a fatter o ring and it still leaks. What should I use? Thanks
Yes the transmission was rebuilt. I don’t see it leaking anywhere else. Are you sure its the dipstick tube leaking?
Yep. I had the same issue with 727 in our 1st 67 fish many years ago. The trans came from under a van so I went to a parts yard for car type tube and stick. Anyway... Let the tube stand straight/centered through the o ring, hold it there and work out the brace. I might have ended up with stud, nut, then brace , another nut.your tube brace maybe bent slightly and pulling the tube out a little or cocking it in the case and allowing fluid to drip or seep.
Thanks I purchased this and I think it fixed the leak. I had to make a bracket for it.I had the same issue, no matter how many "correct" o-rings I tried. I finally went with the race locking dipstick like this one: ATI 726490: Trick Stick Locking Dipstick & Tube Kit Small Block Chrysler TF727 | JEGS
Instead of the single o-ring, it has a large rubber boot that makes a more positive seal.
Excellent. You know what they say about universal fit stuff...doesn't fit anything. Thanks I purchased this and I think it fixed the leak. I had to make a bracket for it.
