The ones on the car are early valiant. Gonna be different PN than 67 barracuda
Probably looks cleaner on that 69 without them. Replacing the valance on my sons 69 as well. Will keep old one for a hole template, but may do the LED deal you did instead. Got a pic?I hate these back up lights! A lot of money & trouble. When I replaced the valance on my 69 I left them off since the AMD part wasn’t drilled for them. I put an led light strip over the license plate for backup light. Works great since mine is a driver, not a restoration.
the 62 valiant also had an even shorter reverse light bezel than the 67 barracuda that was even flatter to mate to its rear valance.Yes this I knew
The lenses and light sockets of which will interchange into 67 and 69 barracuda reverse light housings. This I did not know
The valance pan is the same for all 3 years. 67 holes are drilled for 67 lights, 68s are undrilled, 69s are drilled for 69 lights, otherwise its the same stamping. Yes the holes drilled are different from 67 to 69. And yes i do know 67 and 69 housings are different. 69s being longer, 67s being shorter, however they have the same curve where they meet the valance.
AJ/formS are you aware that the 62 valiant also had an even shorter reverse light bezel than the 67 barracuda that was even flatter to mate to its rear valance. The lenses and light sockets of which will interchange into 67 and 69 barracuda recerse light housings.
I would know, i own a 67 and a 69. Its only because of the way each of these 2 years valances are drilled differently for their respective housings that housings do not interchange between the 2 years, otherwise they will fit if the valance is drilled correctly for them. As a matter of fact early build 69s used 67 reverse light bezels to use up leftover stock on the assembly lines, later 69s used the 69 specific bezels. The only difference in the valance stamping itself other than hole location is if it has dual exhaust cutouts.
I stick by my first statement. Somewhere early in that cars life it was struck from behind. 67 bezels probably couldent be found, and 62 valiant ones were used. The valance was reworked to accept the shape of the valiant reverse lights. I can go take pix of my kids 69 valance hole cutouts as its an original valance too.
Also how do i know the ones the OP has are for a 67?? Its because i sold the OP the black colored reverse light housings off my own 67 valance shown in blue in post #14, and they fit just fine on there. I wanted new chrome ones, so I bought new 67 repops. Same contour, they fit my valance just fine as well. Mine had not been hit and repaired. Its in its OEM shape. I would trust that its a more correct contour than something that was repaired especially since theres still a big punched in crease where the licence plate goes.
I saw the Scott Drake BU lights... for the cheaper price i'd go repop if he made a Mopar specificSame valance all 3 years. 67 was drilled a little differently than 69 for the shorter lamp bezels. I have both years. 67 and 69. I can send pix if needed. Early built 69s used 67 lights to use up leftover assembly line parts.
Good deal! I would be interested in the 67 BU's if you sell emI found these for $1.39 a pair plus tax. Approx 6" long and slightly wider than 1/2". Free shipping. Inexpensive enough that I thought about putting then inside my truck bed under the side rails, and in the truck toolbox. They were cheap enough that I bought 6 pairs of em for $9.03 shipped. I figure at that price I can always find a use for em. I guess when I make the plate mount with this part I can post it up on here. I have a nice set of 67 reverse lights with new repop bezels and screws for my 67. If this cob led reverse light thing works out, I may fill the holes in, and sell the lamps.
