- I have a 316LA motor with a 392 cnc-perfromance stroker kit. Running a set of as-cast speedmaster heads with a Max Lift: .600
Coil Bind: .1.060 and a comp cams 20-222-3 Lift .462"/.470" Duration 262°/270°

Quick question, can I run a set of 1.6 rocker with out issue?
At the moment i just have a set of stock stamped 1.5.

Thx.

You can likely bolt them on and run them without issue. But, they will change the geometry (not saying it was good with the 1.5s but the stock style paddle rockers sweep differently than say a roller tip 1.6) and everything should be checked again. The only real interference you might see with more lift is coil bind or retainer to guide clearance. Neither of which is very likely on aftermarket heads, but worth checking.

Or, retainer to rocker interference, pushrod length. Mike at B3 Racing can get your geometry straightened out.

The cam is pretty small for near 400 cubes, so I'd say the 1.6 would be a good upgrade. Check geometry and correct as needed

I would run the 1.6 Ratio.

However, check pushrod clearance and geometry.
So i went with the 1.6 rockers. Speedmaster had a nice black Friday / Cyber Monday sale. So i picked up a set of the stainless steel in 1.6. Jeggs rocker arm calculater shows i should see a nice little bump in lift from 462/470 to 492/501 as well as duration. It may be awhile before I get them on and running but I promise I'll try and update this thread with my thoughts after install.
Thank you all for the input.

What color was the bushings? Some I saw were gold (assumed brass) some were silver.
I asked SpeedmasterUSA (Speedmaster79_Procomp Electronics in Ca.) or what ever it is on eBay and all they said was rockers are Stainless
