Is anyone running 14" diameter drag tires? opinions? Im building a mild 360, 4:10 gears for my wife to drag race only. have 14x6 rally rim for rear. trying to save money by not buying more rims. I fgure a mid 13 second car.

I ran 14" rallyes on my Scamp and about the only thing I could find that were relatively tall were these:

235/60-14 M&H Muscle Car D.O.T. Drag Tires

These hooked up pretty well and I drove them on the street and strip. I got two or three seasons out of them. I ran low 13s with them on the Scamp and clicked off a mid 12 while they were on the Duster. They are bias ply too, so you'd want to keep that in mind.

There are 14" slicks out there, but the price is about the same as a 15" slick and the sizes are pretty limited. As far as a drag radial, I don't think anyone offers one that is more than 24" tall.

If these are just for the track, I'll bet you could pick up a pair of 15" steel wheels pretty durn cheap and you might be able to find a decent used pair of slicks. I can pretty much guarantee you won't be able to do that with the 14s.

thanks for the replies. yeah i dont want to spend a lot as my wife is just getting started with this. I cant support two fast cars, but I want her to have fun racing, not sitting at the starting line smoking tires.

i just bought two steelies at summit, search for summit Black 8........7"x15" for 45 bucks each. On the other hand, my friend cory used these MH 14" muscle car tires on his dart, they work good for 12 or 13 second cars!
