Updated my 71 340 Duster to the 5x4.5” lug big brakes, decided to go with the repro Wheel Vintiques 15x8 in the rear and 15x6 front. At the same time ordered the dark grey center caps and front trim rings.

The front trim rings where Atrocious in appearance, reminded me of what would have been on Chevy Astro van from the 90’s!
Spoke with both Summit and Wheel Vintiques to confirm I received the proper rings.

What is everyone doing for a proper satin nickel trim ring on 15x6? The OE 15x6.5 E body ring would be to wide. Without them it has me strongly considering say F—k the Ralleys and going with Welds.

I did the same wheels on my car but in 14". I'm watching this thread for sure. I have not found any trim rings in satin that look correct. I bought some used ones but they are too beat up and look like crap. Good luck. If you find a place that has them please post a link!

Still no resolve other then cutting up an expensive set 15x6.5 rings. Correct me if lI am wrong

need a 3” ring (for 15x6)

What ever i decide they need to match my 15x8

Well... I'm still looking too. This place is hopping if you disagree with some things. I can not believe they aren't available anywhere. Crickets chirping............ ????????????

15x6.5 trim rings here. I had to cut back with dremel! Free hand and 2nd set of hands. Took long deep breath and went to town. Came out good. Bought mine from mopar performance many moons ago. That was only alternative I could find.

I would like to see pictures if you have them, I think with masking off and marking the inside of ring, I cut use the guide on my Dremel with a cutoff wheel to remove the approx 1/2 of material then finish the edge with some fine>ultra fine emery cloth.

Still I haven't seen anyone offering the brushed stainless style rings for the 6.5" wide wheel and my 8" in the rear.

Have you tried Wheel Vintiques? They may have what you need. They do make custom stuff too.

My phone is full unfortunately. However, when i finished trimming the edge was not laser straight but once you mount the rings it is not noticed the leading edge gets hidden in shadow. I will try to unload phone to show pics just been busy with work.

Yeah, I saw those. To further complicate things I need the brushed finish for 71 and later.
While they are 3" wide that should fit my 6" wide wheel, but the rear trim ring would need to by 4" wide.

I am not in love with the 3" wide ring on 8" wide rim when it stops short of making it to the wheel center.

For reference, here are my original 14” wheels and rings you can how nice they fit with proper outer edge

Am I understanding this correctly, that you can't find brushed rings in your size? But that you can find polished in your size?

Uh, you have a running car, and a pair of jack stands, and some steel wool. Make 'em brushed. All you can find is brushed? Get a polisher and some compound: Same deal.

In other words, if you can find rings in your size, you have what you need. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the issue.

And this is the first mention of 6.5" rallies I've ever seen. I have a full set in the basement, never could figure out what they were originally off of. I got them off a Ramcharger 20 years ago.

I can cut down the 3" to fit (if needed) my 6" wide wheel if, but appears no one makes a 4" wide ring to fit a 15x8"
You are totally correct, my last resort was to put it on jack stands and use scotch-brite to convert the finish to brushed.

Yes, 6.5" version exist. Ebay

Duster Dennis I feel your pain. I'm looking for polished trim rings to fit 14" X 5 1/2" (sbp) & 15" X 7" (sbp) Rallyes.

I'm kicking around the idea of not using trim rings on any of them (kind of GTO like).

Your wheels look good enough to go "ring-less" as well.

I've considered polishing my rallies where the trim ring would live, bead blasting the center, and then chroming them.

Eh, maybe not.

Edit: Oh snap! I went looking for a different photo and saw these! Thanks Duck Duck Go!!

I've seen widened rallies with rings. Personally, I think the gap at the back looks great, as there would be 'too much ring' if it was much wider.

Too much Ring, not 'nuff rally

Full disclosure: as a kid, before I got to see some in person, I thought rallies had oval shaped holes and a wire laid in the valley of the ring, because that's how it looked in the magazines.

The right depth of polished trim ring makes the holes look complete.

15x6.5 rallye's came on 1975 and up B body Chargers.

The wheels themselves are somewhat easy to find as everyone wants 15x7.

The trim rings OTOH are extremely difficult to find. 15x7 wont work and most 15x6 rings look bad.

IMO, if you must cut down trim rings, get some repro 15x7 and sell the 15x6.5 to someone who needs them.

Seen the chrome, not the fan. Body painted is worse IMHO. Those new rims look great bare with chrome lugs, even without centers.

Agree, however what i am going to do Year One has 15x8 rings sold in sets of 4 only. I am going cut those down to fit my 6” fronts that way I am covering my 8” rears. But dam they are expensive.

I know I've asked before, what tire sizes are on your car? The stance is perfect.

I have a complete set, got 'em from Mopar Performance a few years ago. Have you checked there?

Thanks. Those were the old tires and wheels pictured above. They were 14x5.5's and I believe 215/75-14" tires. The later wheels are 14x6's on the front and 15x7's on the rear with 205/70-14's and 255/60-15's respectively.

I prefer the polished.

The brushed doesn't allow you to see the carefully thought out optical illusion of the holes being completed and round (in the reflection).

That's genius industrial design IMO.

Trim rings look nice when they are sitting still. Have seen few that pass the rolling test. Wobble wobble. Have not looked at the aluminum rally option, my guess is that they are expensive. Saw a set at the Monticello car show Saturday.
