1960-1962 Valiant & Lancer Cowl Drain Flap Interchange & Source

I believe I have found a source for the R/S Series and '60-'62 A body Cowl Drain Flaps.
The 62 year old rubbers on my Valiant Wagon were toast.
I bought a set of 2 but they have yet to arrive.

I am not sure if they are available elsewhere.
I just verified the part # in my '62 Master parts book as MoPar # 1810565 which is listed for 1962 V/L as the cowl Drain flap so I think it will be a successful interchange.

Confirmed, used one on my '62 Lancer.

The ones on my 62 were there, a little dried out.
They were holding back debris from flowing out, even brand new it seems they would.

What is the purpose of these?
