1962 Dodge Lancer gas tank...

Any advice or warning before pulling out the gas tank on a 1962 Dodge Lancer with a leak at the top, near where the sending unit should be?

I plan to pull it this or next weekend, and anyone who's done it before, feel free to sound in!

Spray plenty of WD40 or similar on the threaded hook end....wire brush the thread too.
You may have to remove the filler pipe and gasket/seal to make it easier to refit the tank later.

You may want to use a brass or stiff plastic wire brush on fuel related parts to avoid creating sparks.
