Hello guys.

Im purchasing the QA1 upper and lower control arms for my 1964 plymouth valiant. Has any body done this ? If so what disc brake kit did you use ? And do they directly bolt on like QA1 claims ?

Thank you for your time !

The upper and lower QA1 control arms use factory ball joints. You can get the UCA's in large or small ball joint, so which factory spindle you can use will depend on what part you bought. But those control arms use factory spindles, so in general any brakes that will fit a factory spindle will work with those control arms.

The first choice should be what bolt pattern wheel do you wish to use. That would determine which upper control arm to buy. Big bolt patter wheels you should buy a 73-76 upper arm. Small bolt pattern wheels you should buy an early style up to 1972 small bolt ball joint arm. The small bolt 4 piston caliper Kelsey hayes disc brakes fit the small ball joint. The later 73-76 single piston caliper fit the Large ball joint. Hope this helps. The lowers are all the same.

So if I want to do big bolt Pattern I will have to get the Control arms for a 73 and up ? correct?

Yes they will fit I just pulled a whole set up from a 73 off of this 66 to put a straight axle in. Everything, The uppers and lowers with the spindles were from a 73

Yup, that would be the way to go. Then you just use 73+ A body or FMJ spindles, and you can use the 73+ disks or any brake kit that fits a 73+ disk spindle.

You can get brand new spindles and brake kits from DoctorDiff.

Sweet ! Thank you ! Ordering everything this weekend so this helps a ton !
