What body panels are available for a 65 Barracuda? what venders would carry them? Im looking at one to buy and restore but want to be sure that parts are available before I jump into it. Looks like I would need rear lower quarters and possibly door skins, maybe some rockers and floor panels. Could be more as I have not seen this car in person yet.
Thanks Rod

1/4 patches and floor patches door patches not out there but doors from Valiants and Darts are the same from hardtop cars. Rockers also will need to be found used. Lee parts Cali cars here and I have got some great used parts from him.

Patch panels for lower 1/4's and main floor are about it. No doors skins, to my knowledge, are available. Used sheet metal is all that is available.
Structural parts are shared by a lot of 63-66 A bodies and only available from a donor vehicle. I have rocker panels for these cars. 67 and up A
bodies have a lot more after market sheet metal available. Main floors for 63-66 A bodies are different in the rear portion between Dodge and Plymouth.
There are parts out there, just be prepared to search. This site is probably the best source there is.

ok, thanks. That answers a lot of my questions. Guess these cars when you are in the east are not worth spending much time on. Its a shame as the car doesnt look that bad but I dont want to spend time making custom panels. Usually used parts round here are as bad as the parts that need replacing!

I'm doing a 65 Barracuda. I have been doing a lot of researching and accumulating parts for over two years before I started the project. I don't remember seeing items like after market door skins and rockers. ( if I'm wrong someone will chime in) There are nice floors pans and full floors available. I've seen serviceable door assemblies, hoods, fenders, rockers, quarters and chrome for 65 Barracudas. Bottom line...yes, there is enough stuff out there to do your restoration.

This is what I started with. Trailered to our business shop, made it drivable, drove it for about two months then started the restoration. It had not been on the road in over 25 years. It was setting in the yard next to the previous owner's house.

Rod, I'm not far from you and I have a 64 I'm going to cut up that has good lower quarters and rockers.

66val, Thanks if I get this thing I will get in touch and let you know. He has not answered back to me and its been 2 days now. I hate when people offer something then dont reply back.
Thanks for the heads up

Be patient...it took me about two years of "stopping by her house" to see if she changed her mind about selling her Barracuda.

You need to stop by our tent in Carlisle and see what we have at the show....then pick up one of our catalogs while you're there.

We offer a LOT of early A-body parts.

If you’re doing an early A there’s used, make your own, and Laysons. My ‘65 is getting some of all three. Retro parts are lower quality than the larger repro houses, but a good place to start from in terms of repairs.

Do you have any pictures of how you mounted your rotisserie to the rear of your car? I'm going to be mounting my valiant to my rotisserie very soon. I was thinking about coming off of the spring shackle mounting point rather than the rear bumper mounting points. Also, do you have any pictures of the approximate pivot point to body relationship? I'm just hoping to get an idea of the balance point. I just bought my rotisserie and have never mounted a car on one as of yet.

Thank you

P.S. I had no plans to "Hijack" this thread, I just noticed the rotisserie pictures and got excited! LOL

Let me get some pictures up about what you are asking about.

Hey Stretch, I posted what you wanted to the wrong thread, I’ll see if I can get it fixed.

I was going to say trunk lock is about balanced. No diff, but i left the k-member and front end on car.
Mine balanced well enough that i could roll it over myself.
In my avatar. Also the 65’

You putting the color back to original on the barracuda? I have the same colored car.

At the moment that's the plan. I was going to clone it to the one I bought in early 1966. A gold 1965 Commando 4 speed with less than 6000 miles on it. The PO's parents had bought the car for him to go to college, after owning it a few months he traded it for one with an automatic transmission. I got mad at it one day and in a fit of anger traded it for a brand new 75 Chevy Pickup. I still regret the day. This blue one had been sitting since 1988. /6 automatic. I got it running and drove it for a couple of months before tearing into it. I have another (white) 65 273/180hp 4 speed. That will be my clone, if I don't steal any parts off of it. Both cars are in good shape. What's bad on one is good on the other. BTW the one on the rotisserie (blue one) will still be a /6 auto, but modified. Offy manifold with a Holly DBl pumper, cam, head, valves, headers etc. 8 3/4 Limited slip and springs. "If I ever get it done." Seems like every time I touch my project, someone wants me to do something else.

Awesome mine is a 6 but doing the magnum swap. Mine I realized later is pretty far gone but I’m resurrecting it. Gonna name it Lazarus. I’m going to put original KK1 color back on. Finishing the floor pans now then chassis saver the whole inside before the interior is put back. Need to find a bunch of parts but I’ll get there.
