1965 Barracuda ext trim and more

hey im working on a rebuild and we are to the pint of putting all the exterior chrom back on and i was wondering if i should use any type of foam padding or any rubber strips for between the metaland the trim backsides and if so what yall using and any links or tips on re installing ext trim and i was also wondering about the tail lighghts are they done and sealed up one i get them mopunted back on car and plastic moulding against car is tight or is there any other proper ways im just wondering about the water proffing situation really

Actually, the factory seal was a hard rubber/soft plastic gasket between the housing and the body.

On the upper quarter panel moldings, I would use a sealer under the clips so water doesn't go into the trunk area. I use some soft non-hardening sealer there. You can get to the back side of most of them from the trunk side.
