switching out my 7.25 rearend for a 8.75 suregrip 3.55 ..
65 dartcharger 273 4 speed.

needs cleaning and paint .

The 8 3/4 is all installed into the dartcharger .. just have to have the driveshaft shorted 1 3/4" tomorrow. then she is ready to Rock !:-D
 
8 3/4 rearend 3.55 suregrip is all in the 1965 dartcharger .
driveshaft is shorten 2 inches and all fits great !!

took the dartcharger out for the first spin with the new 8 3/4 rearend 3.55 suregrip .
Geeeeeeeeeeee ... what a difference :cheers::cheers::cheers:
engine revs a lot faster .. 2.93 > 3.55 ratio
At a roll in first gear it will break both tires loose :cheers:
even after adding that extra 100 lbs. of rearend to the rear of dart , it still
considerably faster all around .. i'm very impressed..
This little dart is coming alive big time !:smile:

my brother and I have been into the abodys for over 40 years and we both agree that this little dartcharger 273 would hang with a stock 340 dart/cuda all day long right now.. next will come a big improvement >>> dougs headers and dual exhaust with dynomax ultraflos .. ..

These little 273 engines are so under rated in horsepower ratings .. and most people have nothing good to say about them >>. boy are they wrong, and don't know what they are missing ! No way is my 273 making 235 hp.

I just changed my 2.76 rear to a 3.55 LS in my 64. what a difference I love it especially with a 4 speed.

of course my speedo says I am going 60 when I am going 45 oh well.

it has a 273 commando also.

Um, better double check that chart before you order anything. I have been told that the pre 67 transmissions used a different gear set for the speedo and this chart does not apply.
