I have a 1965 Valiant here that has been sitting in one place for about 14 years and now at my house for one. It was driven to where it was parked, they pulled the battery and then let it sit.

I bought it to build etc. and now need to sell.

It is a /6, 3-speed on the column. No idea if it runs or not currently.

Some minor tweaks to the front bumper, but pretty straight and no rot in the trunk etc. Seats are nice. Headliner is not good.

Worst part on the car is one of the quarters. It has some mud in it. No idea of what is underneath.

Glass is good. Chrome condition is decent with some minor pitting. Car is complete other than battery.

I would trade a BB engine or an A-Body for it but sadly you are way too far away for my budget. That sucks too, that looks like a pretty straight car. Where are you to Medford? My son lives in Gasguet Cali., we were just out there a month ago.

Story of selling things in this financial climate. Too far and too costly... I have heard that alot with other things. I found a rig that I was somewhat interested in. Just a cheap one. Well by the time I paid the car I was paying almost that much for the fuel...Decided not to buy it.

I live two hours to the east of Medford, near Crater Lake as the crow flies.

Our family camps at crater lake alot, they have shown us pics of how beautiful it is. How did you find out how much it cost to ship that car?

Type into Google something like "car shipping" or something like that.

It will take you to a site, where competitors can send you estimates. I did this a month or two ago, and then got 6-8 estimates that were from various haulers. They were fairly close in estimates.

Just a thought. ROB

My zip is 97624, the town is Chiloquin Oregon.

To give you an idea, I was buying a non-running Jeep. It was 700 miles and it was between $500-700. Most estimates were in between somewhere.

Cool, great idea Jeeper, I will check it out but if it is a dollar a mile that would be 2500 bucks. Too much again, what kind of trades are you looking for?

I don't know if it is a buck a mile or what. I know if it runs it is cheaper etc.

It used to be around $1500.00 ish to go to the east coast. It seems I have read that before.

As far as trades go, I am leaning heavily towards cash, unless it were something that I specificially needed for my car.

I could use a 750-950 CFM aftermarket carb. Maybe a 727 3000 stall. 15 x 8
BBP Rallys etc.

I am bring the project car in here in about two weeks. I'd like to sell if for cash before then.

The easier the transaction, the lower the price. IE, if someone came this Sunday with cash and a trailer, I could be motivated pretty heavily. If I have to sit on it, and trade for two goats and a lawnmower..........

I hope that helps some.

if you get a hauler that has more then one car leaving and going your direction the price is cheaper,,you can set it up to be picked up and delivered when they have more going that direction,to save money,, but all depends how long your willing to wait,,,cant hurt to give one or 2 haulers a call,,,,nice valiant project for soem one,,

I've shipped two cars from California to New York. I paid $800 both times. One was even a roller!

The best deals are like stated above, where the hauler picks up cars at several different points along the way.

Usually takes a few weeks, give or take.

how long ago?, i just shipped a Duster to PA from AZ non runner, rolled steered(required) owner operator(usually the cheapest way to go) $1500, said that he had to fill his truck up 2x on the way at 700 gallons per x$4 approx per gallon

Yeah, it was a while ago. The roller was 1999, the other was 2002. I suppose gas prices have gone up a little since then, didn't really think of that. :tard:

price also depends on open trailer or inclosed,,,a friend had a car shipped from calif to pa,,open trailer,,rookey transport driver left the key on dead battery when it arrived, car was on top,no power steering or brakes due to no battery,, had to let it roll offf,,,cost was 1600 that was in 2005

I got lucky on my haul and had the guy deliver it for a trade.

I really think it is going to go up for a local sale. Car trailers make life easy and then the buyer can see it in person. I'm not real big on the distance thing myself.

My motivation is getting stronger to sell this car. It is the better of my two early A's.

I want to finish 440 Dart Sport car. My kids want the car finished as well. That is going to take some cash in my hand I guess.

Either that or some parts that will help me finish the car.

I live in a rural area and the car can sit for a time if needed.

Cash is king. I would consider some 4x4 (jeep) related trades if it came to that, but cash first.

Thanks, ROB

cost me 750 to bring a car from the west to the east coast. I had to wait two weeks to get it. that was last year

Moparman1, mind giving the name of the company that shipped your car last year? $750 is a pretty good price.

BTT.

I am more than happy to combine it with the other car, the 64 Valiant. Or take one and rob the other one etc.

There is also a 76 Dart with BBP disks, and an 8 1/4 or two laying around. Those parts would be extra, but I am motivated to sell the cars.

BTW-not wanting to sell the seperate BBP stuff right now. Cars first, then the parts.

I am willing to take under $800 for sure. And I don't mean $785.00 either.

Cash in my hand at my house are strong motivators. Dealing with shipping companies etc. are not real strong motivators due to time and so forth.

LMK. Trade me the old CJ in the back yard. I can use that...

ROB

I have combined both cars in my local craigslist ad, I am asking $995.00 for both of them.

I'd rather not ship, but will if that is what it will take. I want the buyer to see things in person.

LMK.......cause these gotta go...

ROB

I think that this is worth $650.00 or close to it.

LMK if you need anything. Next week I should be able to meet most anytime of the day etc. since I am on break.
