Does the 1966 Dart GTS exist? I have seen an 1966 mopar memo on modifing darts and barracudas for road racing that mentions them as well as a recent mag. article. The memo stated the GTS as having 273, 4 speed ,8 3/4,ftr. disk, hd susp, sway bar, quick steer and goodyear bluestripe tires. My 66 dart gt has all the above. I have the broadcast sheet . My "little white book" dosen't list them either. Any help befor I begin resto. would be great! thanks!

66 gt yes, 66 gts ? - no, not that I'm aware of. If you have the build sheet, save that and use as reference when you restore. I'd get it laminated in plastic, these sheets are usually really flimsy and beat. You should be able to get all the codes deciphered using the "little white book" for your year car. As far as options those should be included on the build sheet and or the fender tag. Disc brakes, 4spd, red streak tires, hd suspension and sway bar were all options. I am not aware of there being quick ratio steering available. The others might have been in a package, but I dont know that.

Maybe someone else can help out more.

That sounds like a great car to fix! I have had 3 dart gt cars and none of them came with discs, sway bar, 8 3/4. Definitely worth the work. I never had a broadcast sheet either. There was a D-Dart that was modded with go faster stuff done by the factory also. Dont hold off.... I wanna c it.

Never heard of a GTS in 66 but I do believe they had what was called the D-Dart. Might want to check into that.. Oh yeah Welcome to here

Not all hipo cars came with disks or for that matter 8.75 rears. The early 65 4 speed cars came with 7.5 rears and probably went through several before the dealer replac it's possible that some of the 4 gear cars slipped through with the smaller gear. In 66 all 4 gear cars had 8,75's while the auto cars could be had with 7,5 rears. It's possibel that there were a few 4 gear GTs that slipped through with the smaller rear and was replaced under warrenty when the owner blew the ring and pinion. The disk cars ad a unique single res. (can't spell) master cylinder. As far as GT Sport, that marque started in 68. The 67 383 and 273 cars were still GTs.

'67 383 Darts (mid-year roll-out) were GTS's. The only GTS markings were on the fenders. See attache3d pics. Interior door panels and trunk lid trim and grille call-outs were "GT".
