I thought only 68-69 Darts had the option to have big blocks. When did Dodge start installing 383 engines in 1967 Darts? Is there any documentation or literature about the 383 being available? The standard Dart brochure does not list the 383 as an available engine.
I had/have a 67 Dart with a big block that I was certain was a BB car from factory. My brother has it now...I remember reading something years ago about how Mr Norm was doing the swap early in '67 to show it was feasible, then Dodge agreed and rushed it through and made it an official option. Also I think there were no GTS models in '67? Just GT with the 383 engine code, then the GTS was created for '68.
Correct me if I'm wrong...trying to recall reading an article from 25+ years ago.

I do not, Had plenty of spirited discussions about this with know everything Moparites at car shows. No BB '67.Right I said they made it an option later in '67...but I'm not sure when...again just remembering an article I read about it.
Do you recall what the vin started with? LP or LS?
GTS Registry shows 43, 1967 cars registered. As I understand all 1967 GTS cars had 383's.

In reading the GTS Registry the first listed Vin shows that it "...was built on February 17, 1967..." two others showed March 3rd build dates. When did Dodge start installing 383 engines in 1967 Darts?
Yep they started building them in February 1967, LP23H72xxxxxx. I have owned a couple 67 GTS convertibles only have one right now, approximately 12-20 made only 6 known at the moment, LP27H72xxxxxx. They all had standard Dart GT trim with flat hood and all GT emblems except the fenders which had GTS and 383 FOUR BARREL emblems, all had manual front disc brakes and 280 HP 383 engines with 17" unsilenced air cleaners.
