Blew the head gasket on my 318 back in March and though I went back and forth on just rebuilding it, I decided to move forward with a 340 stroker motor. Machine shop inspected and found no damage to the heads or any of the internals but for sure will need new rings. Video and details of the motor can be seen under the thread “Dyno shop tested 318”. The third dyno run produced 273.3 hp and 411 lb. torque at the rear wheels.
I’m selling what you see in the pictures, minus the carb, I will be reusing the alternator and pulleys. I will include the billet distributor which has a new cap and rotor.
After I pulled the motor I noticed that it had a crack at the rear ear, which had been welded some time in the past.
I prefer not to ship but if it’s what you’re looking for, we can make arrangements. Knowing that it has to be rebuilt I understand most would expect a very low starting price, but I am including a Performer intake, new distributor, valve covers. Not sure where to price this but I was thinking $1200. PM to discuss further details. Located in Hayward, CA 94544.
