My 1968 dart original carpet was 1 piece . But I see if I order new carpet they come in 2 piece has anyone seen there being a 1 piece to order new. And if not why? Thanks jesse

Just got off the phone with ACC they say that the mold they have Is based of the original 2 piece design. That maybe what I have is a special ?

Here u can clearly see it’s a 1 piece

Unless you have owned the car since new anything could have happened over the years. my 67 Dart ( yes it could have changed in 68) is 2 pcs and my dad bought it new in 67.

straight from the 68 parts book - 2 pcs

Like said, in 50 years building Mopars and many, I don't recall seeing a 1 piece carpet, but does it really matter/? Only place I would buy new repop carpet from is ACC anyway. Where else!

Wow this is an interesting thread. My 68 dart 2 door sedan also came with a 1 piece carpet. I had always assumed that the 1 piece carpet was original from the factory. And that the aftermarket had always made the carpet in 2 pieces because of shipping costs and it doesn't matter anyway once you install your seats
I'll post a picture in a little bit

It’s a molded 1 piece carpet no tagging, well i guess I’ll never know. May just keep it for prosperity. Already ordered the 2 piece carpet. But there was 2 holes cut out under seats and 2 more small holes towards rear seat pan maybe carpet came from another vehicle.

I guess I never gave it any thought all these years. But it makes sense Mother Mopar having a one piece and also ACC having 2 piece and shorter box for shipping
2 pc was OEM at least in 67 thru 74 Check the parts books. They list front and rear.

23-79-3 front
23-79-33 rear
