1968 Fast Back Tires 60's vs 50's

I've read through a couple of old threats and the consensus is you can fit a 275/60/15, you may have to add a spacer to center the tire but doable without cutting or relocating.

I' m looking at the Mickey Thompson ET street SS. The 275/60's state section width is 11.10" with a 9.29 tread. The 275/50's state 11.10" with a 10.2 tread. On paper I figured i should have 1/4 clearance to the spring, 1/2 fender.

So in theory, 50's should fit????????????

Fitting and rubbing is 2 different things. Trailer Queen maybe, driver, I think they'll rub.

NOPE!!! Sportsman S/R 29 X 15.00 R15LTs. I moved the leaf spring "in" with the offset shackles.

Here's a 28" tire,but it's a 16" ×8" wheel.
About 1 1/2" clearance to sping.
