Timing marks are on the right (passenger) side. There is also "69" stamped on the front of it.

Im pretty sure that some 68's had them as well...depending on the build date. just an fyi

I learn something most every day. I have owned a few 340 cars and engines and have never had timing marks on the right side of the cover. My 69 Swinger I had in 1974 had the marks on the left side. I installed a 318 in a 65 Valiant for my high school days and the timing marks were cover'd up by the water pump that I took off the 273.

Thanks for teaching a old Dog new tricks.

done deal have to watch for timing #s and wich water pump your using ,for hose to radiator fittingto work with your radiator
