Hey everyone,

I found a 1969 Dart with a 340 and a 4 speed. I have asked the owner to send me more pictures, fender tag and any info he can on the car. I have asked about the history.

The car has a Mr. Norms decal (old been there for years) on what looks to be the original paint. The decal is located on drivers side trunk lid.

My question is, how do I find out if it's a real Mr. Norms 340 4spd Dart?

I know there was a fire that destored a lot of the original files from the dealer ship. I used to know a guy who had a 1972 GSS Demon and had the name of the person who had all the records.

So any help you can give me on what to ask, how to find out, who to talk and what clues it would be a fake mr. Norm car would be great.

If it is not real I'm still interested in the car if it is a real 340 4spd car and how solid it is, if it's rusted I will pass on it for the price of 4K.

Thanks everyone.

This is the email I got from Mr. Norm.

call Larry at 1 760 630 0947 he has the records Norm

I was told about a 68 GSS. 440 dart and contacted a friend that worked with Mr. Norm and so he called to ask how to tell if it was a real Mr. Norm car.

From Norm himself, due to the fire there is no way to tell for sure, look at the age of the decal, sticker and the GSS emblem to see if it looks old or like a repop

So good luck on info you are looking for.

Yeah not all the files were destoryed in 69 a good many of them but not all. I need to call and see what if anything shows up on this car. I do have the vin#

PM Sent, I'll see Mr. Norm in a couple weeks, I could give him the VIN and your contact info if you need me to.

Norm's records from 1968 & back were lost. If you have a 1969 Norm's car, Larry is the guy to call.

Thanks but I've talked with Mr. Norm he told me to talk with Larry. I used to talk with Mr. Norm all the time and wrote for his club news letter a lot.

Thanks Alaskan, the guy who owns it doesnt know the history of the car. I will give Larry a call.

I wasn't sure when the records cut off I always thought it was sometime in the middle part of 69 and back but had no real clue.

This would be cool if it turned out to be a real Grand Spaulding Dodge and if I didn't get it maybe the guy can find some help to save the car.

Hey Alaskan, would the files have anything that would help get a fender tag made from it?

The car is missing fender tag and build sheet.

Thanks Alaskan and everyone.

That car has been for sale for a while. It is the real deal i talked to larry about it a year or so ago but the guy was asking $10g for it and making a big stink about being a norms car. Not worth it the cars floors are gone and i think the decklid and dash are off another car. Convenient the build sheet and fender tag are gone now.

Thank you.

The guy who owns it now says a friend gave it to him and he is a minister. Do you remember the vin# on it?

I wonder if the car was or is now a rebody and what the hidden vins say. He said he doesnt know much about cars and said to me I must be a Mopar guy to know what I'm asking and talking about.

I think a red flag is flying up on this one unless someone checks the body out for the hidden vins and they match would be the only good thing about it.

I guess its to good to be true.

Oh and by the way I've called BS on so many so called Mr. Norm cars back in the day. I guess this one could be one of those if its a rebody car.

I tried looking for the vin in my old thread and I never listed it. That decklid was the giveaway to me that and the valve cover off on the drivers side. He originally listed the car with great pictures but when I asked for more he sent the ones in the new ad. Same story too. Don't know about cars blah blah. But he also said he had the fender tags and that there were 3 tags. He however never produced the pictures of the tags when I asked for them.

Yeah another red flag I think I will stay away from this one and it needs a lot of work. I think way more then his asking price he came down to 3 something.
